“Comfort, picturesque, village location”
Reviewed October 4, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

David is the perfect host meeting us at the villa on our arrival after a wet motorcycle ride.
He showed us around the villa, pointing out where everything was located but also spent time to give us help with visits to local attractions.
The villa is at the top of the village of Montecorto with woods at the rear of the property, this is a very popular area for walkers and we also walked a little way into the wooded area but we were not equipped for a full exploration of the area.
The villagers were also very friendly, our Spanish language is about non-existant but between ourselves we managed to make ourselves understood and we were greeted by everyone who we passed when shopping or eating at the local restaurant. Juan and his staff at the 'EL TROPEZON' were great hosts.
About the villa, very spacious, clean with all amenities for a comfortable holiday, kitchen well equipped, plentiful library, comfortable bed, towels and linen provided, swimming pool, 2 terraces with outdoor furniture.
Rock formation within the villa makes for an unusual layout but still very spacious.
Enjoyed our stay, in easy reach of lots of attractions, Ronda, other white villages,Zahara lake, Alhambra palace at Granada also plentiful supply of restaurants not too far away.
Great holiday, great location, great host, thanks David.

“Comfort, relaxation and amazing views”
Reviewed January 10, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

My family of 4 (husband and I, grandma and 6-year old son) stayed at this beautiful property in the heart of the Serranía de Ronda region. We came here as my husband is an avid road cyclist and we needed a central place to stay with access to some of the best roads for cycling in Europe. Villa La Roca in the small village of Montecorto, was the perfect spot. It's central, very close to Ronda, and a wonderful town in itself.
The house was everything we had hoped for: architecturally stunning, warm, comfortable and big enough. It also has gorgeous outdoor grounds, and a wonderful pool. While the water was cold, we still used it a bit (we are from Canada after all :) and spent many sunny afternoons lounging around it.
David, the villa's owner, made all the difference: he was always very responsive, informative, kind and helpful, and made us feel right at home.
We are already dreaming of going back!!

“Best vacation rental ever!”
Reviewed November 23, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Villa La Roca is the best vacation rental I have ever had. First, it is a remarkable house architecturally - built into the side of a rock, with a lot of the rock still in the home. We didn't use the pool -but it looked great. Second- the house is well equipped- bedrooms, baths, and kitchen. We ate out (in a local restaurant) but also cooked in. Third, the owner is so friendly and helpful! He left a whole book of information (written by him -English as well as Spanish) - and a laptop with more information (he has written a guide to the area). Plus, he gave us even more ideas for exploring the area when he met us at the home.

Liked best: The house and the small village of Montecorto- no other tourists! Charming.
Liked least: Some of the roads in Andalucia are very narrow- just need to choose routes carefully.

“Peace Perfect Peace”
Reviewed October 8, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

I spent a week in La Villa Roca on a recent holiday to Spain with my parents. David was a fantastic host from the time of booking until our departure. I received comprehensive directions and a warm welcome on arrival along with an abundance of useful information regarding points of interest in the local area.

The house itself is fantastic, with incredible attention to detail and a multitude of interesting design features. The pool and verandas offer the perfect spaces to spread out and regardless of the size of your group you'll be able to find your own quiet corner to enjoy the stunning views. We enjoyed the fantastic walks that were on offer from the house itself as well as a number within short driving distance.

Ronda is a truly beautiful city and the surrounding area is absolutely breath taking. Our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer as there was so much to see and do it will certainly warrant a return visit. I can't thank David enough for providing us with a beautiful base from which to explore such a gorgeous part of Spain and all his tips on where to visit were much appreciated.

“Wonderful, unique house - great setting - friendly and welcoming!”

We have just come back from ten days in Villa La Roca (family of four plus friends) and would thoroughly recommend it both as a great house to stay in and as a base for visiting this part of Spain.

The house itself is unique and amazing - lots of different levels inside and out, beautifully designed, spacious, comfortable, clean and really well equipped. There's loads of flexibility - whether you want to be together with friends/family or need a bit of peace and quiet in a space on your own. You are at the very top of the village so it's quiet and the views are amazing.

The village of Montecorto is beautiful, friendly and absolutely immaculate - white houses, narrow twisting streets, a natural spring which flows down through the village, flowers and orchards everywhere. The village has a church, a town hall, two grocers' shops, a bakery, a greengrocers, a small bank, a sweet shop, a pharmacy, a library, a fishmongers - not to mention several bars. Also bike hire and a restaurant within walking distance that is open from morning till late at night... Your'e also only 20 minutes by car from Ronda, which apart from being amazingly beautiful has numerous supermarkets, great shops and a huge number of cafes and restaurants.

Memorable things:
- sitting on the terrace, listening to the spring and looking at the mountains or watching vultures circling over the valley
- walks in the pine woods at the back of the house - welcome shade in the middle of the day.
- breakfast Andalucian-style on a Sunday morning at the Venta el Tropazon

David (the owner) was friendly and accommodating, with lots of tips for things to do and places to see. Thank you!

Liked best: The house, the garden, the facilities, the books and the welcome!
Liked least: The house would not be suitable for very young children as there are steep steps and drops inside and outside the house - but this is made clear in the information provided and wasn't a problem for us.

Just came back from a great holiday in Andalusia. We (couple + baby) stayed for 10 days in Villa la Roca and had een great time. The house is beautiful, build under architecture en build around a rock so actually have a rock in your living room. Its fully equipped, even with things a a toaster and blender, and there's a rooftop terrace (two actually) with a great view.
Just 20 minutes away from Ronda, lots of charming white towns around you and a very friendly owner. Would defintely recommend this house to family and friends.
