My husband and I went to a wine tour and tasting at the Joaquin Fernandez Bodega and had a great time! The views are amazing, the wine and food were delicious, and Moises was very knowledgeable while explaining the wine making process to us. Will return if we find ourselves in the area!

We enjoyed a wonderful wine tour, learning about how to produce organic wine and the processes involved from picking to bottling. It was really interesting! The property is beautiful with a stunning view. I could honestly sip wine and look at it all day! The wine tasting was amazing. All the wines are delicious and I enjoyed every single one (even the rosé which I usually do not drink!). We ended up purchasing more glasses as the wine was outstanding. You have to try the merlot-syrah blend it is one of the best wines I have ever tried! As we were enjoying our wines with our tour group, they also offered us a plate of their traditional country rice with pork fillets free of charge. Omg this was delicious! Amazing hospitality, friendly staff, wonderful view, interesting tour guide and delicious wine! What more could you want!

Just visited the bodega

It was a brief yet informative tour with some wine tasting at the end

We booked at tourist information and were collected and returned by the bodega.

Recommended and great value for money

While staying in Ronda on holiday, the hotel staff recommended we visit the winery. To be honest at the beginning I was skeptical, thinking it was probably going to be "sell" job. How wrong I was. To start with the fact that the winery owner was the one that personally came to pick us up at the hotel. On the way to the destination he was very friendly and informative on the area. Upon our arrival we met our guide Juan, I must say this young man was an encyclopedia of knowledge and was extremely thorough on his explanation from the beginning to the end of the wine making process. Although it was just myself and my wife on the tour, they gave us the full, detailed tour. Needless to say, this made us feel very special. The views are breathtaking and the wines delicious. We ended up buying some bottles, not due to pressure but because of the amazing organic wines. A must do while in Ronda.

We were in Ronda without a car and were interested in seeing the countryside around Ronda and learning something of their wine making. This tour was available from the Tourism Office (at the Playa de Torro) (€16 each) where a small bus picked us up (along with some people picked up at other places in Ronda).
A short drive out of Ronda and through some varied countryside brought us to the vineyard which is relatively new (around 20 years) and is established on biodynamic principles.
The varieties grown are basically French (merlot, grenache, cab sauvignon) with shiraz being the local variety. The winery made four main styles (a rose, and then blends of m, g, cs a s) with varying degrees of tanin complexity. It is worth noting that the basic booking from the Tourism Office does not include a taste (generous) of their premium wine or a small plate of salumi and cheese and this worth having as an extra €6 each.
The tour of this small winery was interesting and Moses, the guide, was very informative. The setting for the tasting was beautiful overlooking the vineyard and with Ronda in the background.
We seemed to be the only people on our tour to finish off the generous tastings of most of the wines ( but then we are Australian!).
Well worth a visit if you have 2 hours to spare.
