This was the first day of our week-long tour of Andalucia. We discovered the Meson quite by chance and were seduced by the very pleasant location (next to the Iglesia de Santa Maria Major) and by the warmth of the sun following the foul weather in the UK!
We ordered the E10 Menu del Dia and selected the mixed Tapas (3 types of meat in sauce and 1 gaspachio) and a mixed salad followed by a fillet of plaice each. It was all delicious and the fish was perfectly cooked.
The service was great and we were reluctant to leave!

A friend booked this restaurant for us and we had a little difficulty in finding it, (There are so many lovely squares in Ronda.) The service was tremendously efficient even though there were 14 of us. The tapas was superb (generous portions of local fare, not over cooked) We had suckling pig (idealogically rather unsound) which was, as one can imagine, succulent! The owners are a nice young couple dedicated to this restaurant and fully hands on. Generous people ( we had quite a few drinks on the house!!) and good grub. Full of Spanish people BTW.

The atmosphere is unpretentious, but the quality of the food far outruns the initial impression of the place. We had suckling pig (outstanding) and kid chops (very good). The patron was emphatic that the pig would not be served until the crackling was just right -- which it was! He also gave us a pleasant demonstration of ham-carving; he has invented a new stand to hold the leg, and is passionate on the subject. Friendly, efficient restaurant for people who want to enjoy Spanish country food at its best. Way above the usual tourist-orientated establishment. However, I can't understand the reference to vegan cooking, given that the sign at the door proudly states that their speciality is grilled meat!

Found it by chance when looking for a mid-afternoon snack. Had the favada, a bean soup with chorizo etc (a bit like a French cassoulet) - delicious. Ordered plate of prawns which turned out to be so generous a helping I couldn't finish. Returned next day for evening meal, again v v good (and unusual). Lamb esp good. Also imaginative salads. Staff v friendly, welcoming and patient. Thoroughly recommend, esp to sit in the lovely little square.

Let me begin by mentioning the friendly staff. They were very kind and tried to make the experience, but the food here was just bad. The worst we had in our three weeks in Spain. I couldn't eat the artichoke dish that was pure mush. It was the consistency of mushy peas, except mushy peas have more texture. They brought out something else that was also not good. My partner didn't enjoy his tough, tasteless meat and he tasted my dishes and agreed. Just bad food. All the friendly staff and good service don't matter if you can't stomach the food. Sadly, we were very much let down! Also, I didn't find any true vegetarian options so I'm not sure how the restaurant was labeled vegan??
