This hotel is perched over a spectacular view. It is very charming with an old world feel. All the rooms are different and are very comfortable with lovely toiletries and nice touches. Even though our room looked over the narrow street that the hotel is on it was quiet to sleep at night. The service here is friendly and of a high standard. We really enjoyed the breakfast sitting over looking the gorge. We hope to return.

On our way down to the Costa del Sol from Seville, we took the scenic route through Ronda and stopped for a leisurely lunch at the restaurant of Hotel Montelirio, which we had googled at the last minute. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly Maître d' an old world charm. He couldn't seat us at the window initially, but he later moved us when a table became available so that we could enjoy the spectacular view for the rest of our lunch. While waiting for the food to arrive, our children went outside to take pictures of the view of the hills and valley below. The menu was traditional Andalucian cuisine, and everything from the meats to the vegetarian dish with chickpeas was delicious. The décor was very traditional but charming. The one downside was that the dessert took endlessly long to arrive, which cut short our plans to visit the town. If possible, especially for a couple/romantic meal, try to reserve a corner window table. Even though we only got to experience the restaurant, we suspect that the hotel has wonderful views and service as well.

Perched above the gorge looking out at the New Bridge this beautiful hotel is romantic and relaxing! My wife and I stayed in room 102 with a view overlooking the gorge. Each morning we enjoyed an ample breakfast with views of the country side and in the evening enjoyed a delicious meal with similar views. Ronda itself is beautiful, quaint, clean and peaceful! We did go off-season in mid-December which I am certain added to the quiet. Just a splendid retreat. I haven't stopped talking about this place since our visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gorge

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. We saw it online and the views just made us book it on the spot. We asked for a room with a view and that's what we got - it was incredible. We sat in the late afternoon with the window open looking out over the bridge as the sun set.

The room was very large with a huge bed and the bathroom was a good size with bath and overhead shower. Very clean throughout.

The receptionist, Angela, is absolutely lovely and was so friendly and helpful, as was the male receptionist and Ion, the restaurant manager is just so so so fantastic. What a great personality and wonderful host. We ended up having two meals in the restaurant as the first one was so incredibly good. Beautiful food and you sit overlooking the bridge and the town so the view is amazing.

We really were very sad to be leaving this hotel, after four nights, and would absolutely definitely recommend it and we hope to go back there one day.

If you have dinner in the hotel try this wine it is AMAZING (recommended by Ion) Pago El Espino 2012

Thank you Angela and Ion for making our stay so amazing.

We stumbled on this restaurant, trying to find a good view of the gorge. It was after sunset (November), not many terrace restaurants were open offseason. This one had outside heaters and a great view of the bridge. Our waiter spoke english, was super-friendly and recommended a great, affordable bottle of wine. The roasted duck with port wine reduction was heavenly.
