“Arabesque jewel at the city walls”

The Alavera de los Banos is a beautiful boutique hotel, outstandingly managed. Superb interiors in Arabesque style, located adjacent to the historic Arab baths, city walls and gates. Stunning views all round, beautiful gardens and a welcome, small. swimming pool. Breakfasts are outstanding, fresh fruits, home made juices and jams, local cheeses and cold meats. The quality of the management is outstanding. beautifully clean, stunningly appointed.

Room Tip: Take a ground floor room with a garden. Worth a little extra. Rooms have no TV ( a plus for us), but...

We enjoyed our 4 night stay here very much. This is our 3rd stay at Alavera de los Banos and it just gets better. The location is on the edge of the old town but just a few minutes walk to all the restaurants and sights though there are several steps to climb to get to these so you are getting some good exercise mixed in with the relaxing experience at the hotel. We stayed in a Suite which was just perfect with a lovely terrace overlooking the pool, horse paddock and beautiful view. The breakfast was perfect, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses, toast, cakes and lovely jam/marmalade, what more could you ask for to start the day. Would we stay here again, definitely!

Room Tip: We booked a Suite which was excellent.

Highly recommend this hotel for a 2 to 3 night stay. It is situated near the old bridge in Ronda, away from the daytime crowds and an idyllic walk into the town at night when they are gone. The standard rooms are spacious with a large bathroom and rain shower. Staff were always at hand and eager to help with any issues.

We enjoyed our week here very much. The location is on the edge of the old town but just a few minutes walk from restaurants and the sights. Admittedly you have to climb several steps to get there but coming back afterwards is easy! If you are staying a few days it worth going for the "suites". We were in Room 10 with a splendid balcony with 2 loungers a views over the countryside. Of special merit are the breakfasts, a celebration of fresh fruits and local bread, preserves, meats and cheeses. Eagerly anticipated every morning. The gardens are lovely and well maintained. All in all, excellent.

Room Tip: Suites are worth the extram although normal rooms are nice too!

We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet atmosphere with the extensive gardens, large pool area, and the delicious breakfast outdoors on the patio. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel but it was all worth it once we arrived. We like walking so the hike up the road to the Old Town was not an issue and for us added to the positive experience. We loved exploring Ronda and would highly recommend it and Hotel Alavera de los Banos.

Room Tip: Terrace rooms have nice views and access to the gardens.

This hotel is very quiet and comfortable. It has a nice swimming pool with a view on the horses in the valley. The hotel is very conveniently located at the edge of Ronda, it just takes a little climb up a stairs to walk into the city. The people in the hotel are very friendly and can point you to briliant places to have dinner in the city. The bathroom was a bit small, but this was not really a problem.

We stayed at this hotel as two couples. After having a little difficulty finding the place (the sign on the right is quite secluded when you drive in, and we ended up going past it) we were pleasantly surprised by the large and stylish living area with comfortable seating, a well-stocked honesty bar and books. This opens onto a lovely terrace with seating under the trees and a swimming pool, overlooking fields of horses and poppy-filled meadows. All of this set me ready to give this place five stars. The welcome was friendly and helpful. The other couple with us got (going by their account) a lovely room in the upper part of the house overlooking the fields; we drew an unfortunate short straw in being put in a rather dark ground-floor room whose low windows overlooked the street at ankle level. The room was very much lacking in light (although I understood the idea that there wasn’t much of the natural sort to be had, it didn’t have sufficient light fixtures to compensate either.) The drain in the bathtub was all but blocked, leaving one in foot-high water at the end of a shower. The room, while not actually mouldy, smelt a little musty. It really wasn’t a place we wanted to spend much time in. But breakfast was pleasant, and the start to the morning on the terrace could not have been more pleasant.

It really is in a wonderful location. Those who complain about the short walk up to the town are either elderly or extremely unfit (neither, by the way, is a good position for enjoying southern Spain’s towns and climate!) For me (and I usually don’t regard myself as especially fit) the short walk was easy and spectacular.
