“The best view in town”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

Having relegated Ronda right down our list of Parador stays because it is a modern building in a "touristy" town, we had a wonderful, relaxing stay in this hotel. We booked in for four nights and were allocated a spacious room with a large corner terrace and a fantastic view of the gorge. Because we had plenty of time to see the sights and the room was so congenial, we spent quite a lot of time relaxing there, especially our son who was a bit tired of touring. From the Parador you can watch people coming and going from the town all day, and enjoy the silence and the vistas in the early mornings and the evenings. The garden and pool area are beautiful as well. You could argue that the rooms and furnishings are getting a bit worn but everything is solid and was built to last -- it is really not an issue. The staff at the hotel were very responsive and helpful, especially the front desk staff who seemed genuinely engaged with maximising the guests' enjoyment of the facilities. Breakfast was good but, with a wide selection of inexpensive restaurants and bars very close at hand, we did not try the Parador restaurant. We did have a light tapas lunch at the bar/cafeteria and it was very creative and enjoyable. Overall I think the hotel was a great place to stay in Ronda, and Ronda was a delightful, surprisingly unspoilt town. I'm glad we found time to visit!

Room Tip: Selecting a superior room should ensure a view of the gorge. It is a busy hotel, especially on the w...

This was our first stay of our trip of some of the paradores of Spain.
The receptionist was very flaky. First we got a room which was already occupied by other people. When we got back after 2 minutes the receptionist didn't remember us from 2 minutes ago.
We got another room on the other side of the hotel. A very nice clean room with a wonderfull view. The receptionist calls us that we left something on her desk so my husband when downstairs to get it, and still she doesn't recognise him! Very odd.

The hotel is great, with great views all around.
At dinner which we had included we were not treated very friendly either.
Everyone was a bit harrased looking. But with our limited knowledge of Spanish we got everything we needed.

Breakfast is wonderfull!

Ronda is a very popular town for tourist. The drive there is breathtaking. The new bridge over the gorge where the hotel is situated is beautifull. However, if you are scared of hights it is not the best place to stay.

Stayed last week for three nights at the Parador Ronda and what a delight the hotel is.Firstly it has the best location in Ronda right on top of the Gorge with fantastic views of the mountainous countryside and facing great sunsets in the evening. The rooms were very large, nicely furnished and i had a balcony with views.
The buffet breakfast was great, everything you could want, and a chef to cook fresh eggs to choice.Prices in the hotel were no more expensive than in the town.
The Parador had a wonderful pool area, though the pool wasnt heated it was still a shock to get in the water even though the temsp were about 34 average.
All the staff i came into contact with were very friendly.
Definitely would recommend to anyone to stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony,as i dont think all have!

I am generally a fan of Paradores especially the historic ones. Ronda is a popular place to visit so expect to pay a bit over the odds (for the room, parking etc). However, we had a dreary room
with a view of air-conditioning plant (which didn't work very well) and the bath/shower water ran dark brown. When we complained, the receptionist actually asked what we wanted her to do about it! Breakfast was a big but unappetizing buffet with stale coffee and strange juice. Service and value in the bar were fair enough though.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before you agree to stay.

Marble, decadence, balcony. Effortless service from staff. Breakfast buffet is endless the views from the bar and resturaunt are magnificent. And that's before the terrace or the pool. And Ronda is a fine old Spanish town great food and ambience.

Never had a bad Parador but this is one of the best I have have stayed purely for the view over looking the bridge and the valley and planes below. The food is rustic but as a whole Paradors buildings are spectacular.Ronda has some good food outlets Restaurante Goyesca was very good. Other paradors I liked were Malaga and Arcos de la Frontera.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of bridge and valley.

We were two couples spending two weeks in Spain, June 2012. The Parador in Ronda was unanimously selected as the best (by far) lodging we stayed in during that trip. We had booked two deluxe (duplex/suite) units expecting better than average accommodations but found a wonderful surprise upon arrival at the Parador. The suites were two-story units with a large sitting room and full bath with closet on the lower floor and a large bedroom with two full-size closets and a luxury bath on the second floor. Both floors had very spacious balconies. The only caution is that luggage had to be carried from the lower floor to the upper floor as there is no exterior access to the upper floor of suites. The staff was wonderful. The buffet breakfast was the most extensive we had during the 14-days in Spain. Ronda is worth the effort to get there. Incredible views. Lots of history. The neat find for us during this stay was the "Water Mine" next to the Casa del Rey Moro on Calle de Santo Domingo. Check it out on the way to the Arab Baths at the bottom of the street.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side overlook the Puente Nuevo (1st choice) but those on the north side have a wo...
