I ate here twice recently, within the space of one week and the contrast on the two occasions was palpable.
Our first visit in the afteroon was pleasant enough, some tapas dishes that were good, and service that was reasonable enough. On the second visit we were ushered to a table that hadn't been cleaned, the food when served was not fully cooked (and a special mention to the russian salad which was-contrary to what you may read here-dire, and gave me an uspet stomach) also on this occasion the waiter was somewhat dismissive.
A shame really because when they get it right this is a reasonable enough place.

Lunched here after reading a recommendation in a guidebook. It did not live up to the review, unfortunately. The service was quick and friendly (in Spanish only), but the food was quite average. The dessert we ordered was clearly bought in a supermarket (with original packaging). Its only worth walking out to barrio San Francisco for this place if you're really tired of restaurants closer to the centre of town.

We had been recommended this restaurant and went one evening for a drink, the kitchen wasn't open so decided to go back next lunchtime.

When arriving next day the outside seating area was packed with tourists (but hey thats what we are so decided to stay) We managed to find a table and waited for about 5 mins before leaving as the two waiters serving didn't look like they were going to get to us in the next hour! Instead we went to the next restaurant in the square called 'La Cepa'. The beer was cheaper, the service was friendly and the food fantastic!!

However we gave San Francisco one last go that evening, the waiter seemed more intent on his phone than serving us but on saying that once the food came it was very nice esp the sauce with the lamb chops.

On balance though if in the area I would rather visit 'La Cepa' and get that bit of extra service!

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Thank god we arrived before the rush. With 20 mins of sitting down the place was heaving with locals. We had a great selection of tapas. I recommend the prawn skewers, calamari and fried peppers.... 8 of us dined and it cost 95 euros.

Went here on the reccomendation of Lonely Planet, either the place has changed or else the have not tasted decent food. How can they say it is cheap when a plate of oily deep fried aubergines is 8 euros!! We had mushroom croquettas, which consisted of campbell mushroom soup deep fried and Russian Salad which mashed potato with tuna and egg. Please dont waste your euros here.
