“Good tapas, good wine!”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

Good tapas and good wine. Nothing special but good food - some things a little pricey! Service was ok too. Sat inside as outside was full - needed AC.

“A tapasbar with nice surprises”
Reviewed June 20, 2014

A modern quite minimalistic style decorated tapas bar. Very nice service, classic spanish tapas in a new jacket! Nicely located in a small street right in the centre of town.

“Fabulous Experience!”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

We were in Rhonda after a week in Spain. While we enjoyed the tapas experiences, by day 8 I wanted something a bit more sophisticated, fresh and innovative and Tragatapas delivered! Fresh asparagus, tomato salad, basil infused olive oil...Amazing food, great waitstaff! We broke our cardinal rule when traveling...we ate there both nights!

“Really??? Certificate of Excellence?”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

This place is way over-hyped, and clearly the owners are aware of the good rep, prices have doubled to 3-6+Euros for tapas.

We paid 5.60Euros(03June14) for a single over cooked asparagus with a mayonnaise sauce! The other items we had ordered were tasty but again, very small portions for what turned out to be a doubling a prices from the 2014 book where we had originally heard of it. It seems like the typical stereotype against modernist food...unusual tasty food combos - incredibly small portions, high prices, and last but not least people who gush about it as if they had an orgasm.

Also, the servers seemed very ambivalent, and the stools were uncomfortable.

Much better value down the street.

“Delicious modern tapas!”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

This was our 3rd day in Ronda and I was feeling underwhelmed by Ronda food so far, and then we went to Tragatapas for late lunch/tapas which restored my faith in Spanish food.
It was amazingly delicious! And you must visit here for tapas while in Ronda. We sat outside in the street which is an extra 10% but worth it to relax and watch the passerbys. The tapas were large enough to share with another person so you could try quite a few. We had the Spanish potato salad which was very creamy and had some fish (cod?) in it. Then we had crispy prawns which were delicious, spicy big juicy prawns wrapped with a basil leave in fill pastry and fried, served with a herb mayonnaise. The pork cheeks under potato foam were served in a glass and was one of the most delicious things I have eaten, superb! The mini Waugh hamburger was utterly delicious. And we had the more traditional egg served with French fries and morcilla which was also very tasty although a little oily down the bottom of the dish, possibly could have drained the fries a bit more before plating. Then dessert, wow!!!! We had the chocolate fondant with ginger caramel which is a super chocolatey custard/mousse served in a small jar topped with the caramel, very moreish. We also had the lemon curd dessert and this was wine of the best desserts I have ever eaten. Again in a small glass jar, there was a bottom layer of biscuit crumbs, then an amazingly delicious light creamy tangy lemon curd topped with a crown of feather light yoghurt foam. I am already dreaming about having that dessert again! Sangria was good, service was good and I love this place! Planning to go back tomorrow to try some more of there fabulous tapas. And there was room outside for us to sit with our pram with our 3 mth old sleeping son which was handy as many of the great tapas places are quite cosy with no such space.
