“gourmet food in beautiful place”
Reviewed February 6, 2012

My husband and our friends took our first ever trip to Spain and first ever trip to Ronda. We came from the costa del sol area for the day and we were looking for a great place to eat . Great meaning good view since it was Ronda and great food meaning something traditonal and yet gourmet . We found the Restaurante Casa Santa Pola to be the perfect place. It was off season so it was too chilly to eat outside but the view from the cute inside room was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and yet very professional. Even though we spoke no Spanish, we got across what kind of wine we wanted and we ordered regional wine that was excellant. My friend and I ordered Cochinillo lechal confitado which in essence we got piglet. We wondered if Winnie would be mad at us but we were adventurous and it was the most delicious thing. We had wine, desserts, entrees& coffee and our bill was158.49 euros. It was worth every euro. We had the place to ourselves, great wine , great food. great view & great service. This place is easily walked to across the bridge ,down the side street, sign above door on left side of street or same side as hotel don miguel but over the bridge . You will love this spot.

“Fantastic food in special location - views amazing”
Reviewed January 12, 2012

We loved food so much that we ate there 3 times. Low season and mid week- but service marvellous. Menu items local and interesting but still edible for conservative Australian. Grandma's soup is perfect for lunch or appetiser at dinner. The vegies are fresh and crisp. I had the best salad I've had in Spain. Enslada mixed with goats cheese. Lamb shank in rosemary and honey divine. chocolate souffle for dessert worth the 12 minute wait. Prices much better than parador. I thought it was good value for the quality. Spouse even tried the oxtail dish. it was great. Complimentary aperitifs provided at each dinner and they were great - almond cream one day - herring and capsicum night. bill cost 126 Euro for 3 courses plus salad and coffee for 2 people with good rioja wine!
Staff very willing to help and English available.
View over valley with a full moon rising a bonus.

Just eat here - its worth it!!!

“Great Dinner in Ronda”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

We had a great dinner Asador Casa Santa Pola. The tempura eggplant appetizer was unbelievably tasty. For our entree we shared an outstanding mixed seafood paella. The best we had on our trip to Spain.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and cosy. The service was excellent.

We discovered my wife forgot her purse at the restaurant when we got back to our hotel. When we went back to retrieve the Owner was waiting for us at the door with the purse. That is something you really appreciate.

“Our best meal in Ronda, a real treat”
Reviewed September 20, 2011

After 5 nights in ronda we finally found a good meal! Most of Ronda seems to offer a similar tourist menu, little variation in prices and nothing better than ok quality. The Santa Pola, however, finally offered us a top quality meal that we'd been looking for. Not especially cheap, mind you, but not quite as expensive as the tragabouches, and really top notch food making it reasonable value for money in that town. The menu was refreshingly different to all the others we'd seen during our week long stay. The location is also stunning, since the restaurant building sits on the very edge of the great gorge that runs through the middle of the town - take a camera! Our 3 course meal with a half bottle of very nice Rioja came to €125 with the tip - it was the highlight of our stay.
