The cottage itself is fabulous, very homely and and well furnished. Great fireplace and wood burner, unlimited wood was supplied. Bedrooms very well appointed, loft room is incredible. Well stocked kitchen. Bathrooms were modern with great showers and awesome deep bath.
There are neighbors at rear and both sides, yet with the trees you still get the feeling of being isolated and being in the bush.
Located close to Katoomba and blackheath for supplies and there is a servo within a minutes drive should you need dry kindling wood.
We will definitely be returning!!

Myself and my 2 dogs, Dougie and Evie, stayed at Holly Lodge for 4 days. Perfect lodgings in a beautiful setting. Everything was perfect.
Comfortable , clean, inviting, rustic, relaxing.....just a few words to describe the Lodge.
Anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle , Holly Lodge is for you.
I will be returning.
I especially loved the birdlife.....the Blue Mountains have a spectacular array of birdlife, and I saw some at Holly Lodge .

Holly Lodge is without a doubt THE NICEST HOME we've ever stayed in in the Blue Mountains!

It was difficult to leave for the day's activities because the lodge was just so cosy. A unique and seamless integration of rustic and modern features was simply captivating.

What made Holly Lodge even more like home was an expertly equipped kitchen with plenty of helpful and entertaining extras, such as books, games, heaps of movies and awesome WiFi!

Whether your're in the Mountains for a romantic weekend or for a week of adventure, this place is the perfect place to LIVE.

“Absolutely amazing”
Reviewed April 24, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We just enjoyed a week here with my son and gran. It was perfect comfortable cosy rooms and almost every detail attended too.
All amenities clean and nice and beyond that with higher than usual quality. Our host Markus remained in very attentive contact although we never met and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and settled.
Firewood provided. A gorgeous welcome gift. All herbs and spices and basic food items with quality tea and coffee maker available for use and a fully stocked kitchen. The kids rooms had toys and certainly able to have a baby with a proper cot available. The loft room was fully equipped to relax and a choice of open fire place or combustion fire that heated the loft toasty warm.
The furnishings were rich and warm and bathrooms very modern.
Parking requires some 3 point turns to get in and out but it was just fine. Back and front porch with wild birds and some food for them also provided.
All in all we love our time there and will return
The pets were happy and the cleaning was so good I had no reactions to previous cat visitors as I am allergic.
Perfect choice with or without pets

“No need to look further ...”
Reviewed October 6, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Look, we trawled through the internet for accommodation in the Blue Mountains looking at places (just as you are doing now) where we wouldn't even send our respective parents, then found Holly Lodge.

Sometimes you just know --like when I first saw the misses --that a perfect match has been found and Holly Lodge did not disappoint.

Just turning into the driveway and heading up to the Lodge was reminiscent of a cabin in Whistler I stayed in many years ago, it was like returning to the Rockies, and the kids were desperately trying to unbuckle their seatbelts to see what was inside.

Secluded and away from other properties you notice the privacy as soon as you step out of your car, surrounded by tall pine trees, gently swaying in the breeze.

Inside Holly Lodge, it has that roomy-yet-snug feel-factor that you do not get from usual holiday accommodation. This had the feel of a family welcome from the owners, a certain sense of pride for what they have achieved in their corner of the Blue Mountains and we were lucky to be sharing it with them.

It should be noted that the photo's online do not do Holly-Lodge justice. A cracking open fireplace (that we were able to light of an evening, while Sydney below us baked in 30C plus temperatures the weekend we stayed) was where we spent the evenings playing board games with the kids, sitting on the floor, legs crossed, feeling like children ourselves.

The kitchen is more than accommodating for the family chef, with every utensil known to a restaurant kitchen at your fingertips and with a gas cooker it was perfect. The unique kitchen bench has been handcrafted from a large cut of wood and helps retain that large log-cabin feel.

Three bedrooms downstairs with ample room, extremely comfortable beds and cupboard space to hang your clothes was more than enough, yet the upstairs 'loft' room was where it was all happening.

We hardly saw the children, except for meal times and car trips as they played away up there, pretty content in their little fantasy worlds.

It should also be noted that there is free wi-fi at Holly Lodge and a vast collection of movies, catering for all genres, as well as Stan TV that was a given to keep the kids entertained when upstairs had worn them out.

It's a cliché I know, but this is a corner of this country that is perfect for the traveller with the rat-race 1km below.

If you want a clean, welcoming place to stay then we highly recommend staying here. We've stayed in the Blue Mountains twice before and can't believe we missed it.

Whether you have a family, or not, just book Holly Lodge. Just do it. You will not be disappointed.

The kids were talking about when we would return to their “holiday house” on the long drive back to Newcastle. I told them it wouldn't be too far away.

Holly Lodge was a terrific place to base ourselves for a good look at the Blue Mountains. Warm and comforting with lots of homey extras, and in a fantastic location. We felt very blessed to be able to spend a week there.

“Really comfortable, cosy and lovely”
Reviewed July 17, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The lodge is very pretty and well-laid out with a large garden and plentiful outdoor furniture to use if the weather had been warmer. The hosts were very obliging in all ways and we loved the little touches like a complimentary miniature bottle of champagne and chocolate and marshmallows. As suggested in the manual, the combustion stove was a more efficient heater than the open fire, which made the upstairs area quite over-bearingly hot and stuffy.
Kitchen utensils and equipment were very generous and good quality, but serving platters of sorts would have been helpful for the Christmas dinner in July that we had. Overall we really loved it and would happily go back again and appreciated the fact that the hosts did everything they could to ensure our stay was a good one.
