Went with the kids, had soup, club sandwiches and Reubens with homemade desserts. Awesome. Good service and prices...ten times better than any chain ( looking at you Timmy how ) For sure stop by anytime passing through Lancaster.

Visiting Sweet Tooth Bakery is like stopping by an old friend's place just when they happen to be preparing lunch. You feel welcomed, the place is warm and comfortable, and the food is home-made, simple, and delicious. Sandwiches (like grilled cheese served with pickles), soups (or chili), and amazing baked goods (butter tarts!), are served quickly at very reasonable prices. Hands-down the best dining option in Lancaster, and worth a drive by itself. But while you're in town, be sure to visit the Lancaster Cheese Factory (613-347-1141, Tue-Sun) for their award-winning local cheeses.

We often have lunch here and never leave disappointed (or hungry!) On our latest visit, I had the mushroom soup and the Reuben sandwich. There are usually two homemade soups on offer every day. I am not a huge meat-eater but I love the Reubens and smoked-meat sandwiches here, with plenty o' pickles and an olive on the side. My hubby also had mushroom soup, plus a great Club sandwich.

The food is homemade, fresh, lovingly-prepared, made-to-order and consistently delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. There are lots of home-baked goodies to be had; if you don't have room for dessert, take something along with you for later. The butter tarts are second to none!

This sweet little diner/bakery is an excellent alternative to the fast food chains clustered down by the 401. Take a minute to drive north into Lancaster for lunch here. It's worth the tiny bit of extra effort, even if you're zipping through on the highway and need a fast lunch.

This bakery provides tasty homemade baked goods. Try various types of squares, cookies and pound cakes. You can sit back and have a coffee or tea in this country style bakery. The staff is friendly and helpful.
