Foss Cottage has been our favourite family holiday destination for many years. It's the perfect place to spend quality time as a family, unplugged from the the distractions of modern day devices! Kids love to build a camp and sleep out in the orchard, pack a picnic for a long day's adventure at the beach, play board games in the evening and go for a walk by moonlight before bed. Time of day is forgotten, just go with the flow.
The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. Perfect for cooking up delicious dinners made with the wide availability of local produce. Fresh seafood, a traditional butcher and an organic farm shop are all a relatively short drive away. And if you don't fancy cooking, there's a wonderfully eccentric pub in the village.
The bedrooms are spacious with amazing sea views and the beds are very comfortable.
Foss Cottage is delightful in all seasons, we've enjoyed both winter and summer breaks here. We will definitely go back.

Foss Cottage is the perfect escape: no TV, no mobile coverage, just a Dansette, a fireplace and a fantastic sea view (you can even see the sea from the bed in two of the rooms).
The house is in a brilliant location at the very end of a tiny lane. No one comes past. There is a large garden with a set of paths that climb up the hillside. Our kids loved playing there. There are loads of great games and toys.
A short walk takes you to a number of beaches (some of them hidden at high tide), to a lookout station or along the coast to Salcombe if you are more ambitious. It is easy to come to house without a car. You can get a taxi from Totnes railway station. There is also a bus to Kingsbridge (once a week!) and a shop in the village for basic supplies.
