This is a nineteen fifties holiday camp with rotting woodwork, peeling paint, unkempt areas of scrub, and chalets without a shower. The food is adequate but dining is regimented and fixed to a given time. The only redeeming feature for me was the entertainment, especially the resident quartet. Some staff were welcoming and eager to serve, others were surly and unresponsive. I will not be repeating the experience.

Once you turn in off the main road you are greeted with a 1960's holiday style camp. The trouble is very little has changed since the day it opened, so one would think. Carpets in the resturant and flithy, marked and need of a dam good clean. Food is of a very poor quality, but the staff are friendly and helpful. Once you enter your chalet, you are greeted by the local spiders who may have been there for a while. Rooms are basic, of poor quality and not overally clean. Nets are a dirty grey colour and doors don't tend to fit. Rooms are serviced on a Wednesday, well someone comes in to clean the sink, loo and possibly your cup! There's bingo everynight, and entertainment is reasonable as the staff do work hard to put on a good show.

Overall, not the ideal place for most people.

I have just returned from a weeks holiday at Sand Bay Leisure resort. I have a dairy allergy and informed them before I went. Every evening the waitress Krystyna told me what was suitable for my diet and if there wasn't anything a special meal was prepared for me. Starters was mainly soup (every night a different flavour) but the puddings were fantastic - I was served dark chocolate pudding with special custard, Apple Crumble, Blueberry cake etc as well as fruit salad which on holidays at other resorts was the only thing I have ever been offered (and as much as I like it you get fed up with fruit salad every day for a week). The waitress service was very well organised
The entertainment was very good - didn't take part in the early evening bingo etc as we made use of the beautiful surroundings and walked off our dinner, for anyone who like walking there are superb walks along the beach, up on the headland, where you can see for miles or along the wood paths. If you want to go further afield there is an open top bus that stops outside the camp and goes into Weston Super Mare - and it takes your bus pass after 9am
The chalets were kept very clean and the bed very comfortable with sprung interior mattress. All the staff were very helpful, altogether it made for a super holiday

it looks lovely when you drive in till you go round to the chalets which people called them sheds with keys it was like going back to the 1960s we opened door to find it was dirty - cob webs -dust - cracked tiles in bathroom could not open bathroom window as it backed on to stagment water which was covered with bugs we did go and tell them they did come down and clean it because they are so old it didn't look much better . the food was ok nothing outstanding if you was late coming in for breakfast or dinner you did not get any one couple came in late for breakfast they would not even give them a piece of toast you had to be there for 8-30 am and 6-00pm for dinner no leeway whats so ever the entertainment was the best thing about the resort . the cleaner only comes to clean your chalet on a Wednesday she does NOT hoover just wipes sink and toilet we thought she made the bed she did in a fashion quilt cover was very neat till we came to go to bed pulled quilt back and it look as if we just got out of bed the whole place should be demolished .

Room Tip: there are no good rooms at sand bay leisure resort

stayed here bank holiday weekend, it was our second visit, must admit the chalets are very dated and need refurbishment, but enjoyed the weekend and the company we went as a group of 5 couples and we had a great time, enjoyed the entertainment queen Tribute Whitney Houston and rod stewart and the searchers plus the staff put on a good show on the sunday evening, we found all the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was of a very high standard considering the amount of people saying there. we were on table 35 and our waiter george was very good. we all enjoyed the activites and made our own fun. when talking to staff we wre told that the resot has been bought by a new company and is in the process of being refurbished but it is a large complex and will take aquite a while.
