“Loved the Tapas”
Reviewed May 4, 2009

The Casa Islena is beautiful, and has a nice setting on the beach. We loved the Tapas, and the price was affordable.
A different idea for a great meal!

We went here twice while we were in Rincon. Loved the atmosphere, the service was very good and everything we tried was excellent.

“Smallest portions for tapas ever, poor attention from wait staff.”
Reviewed February 21, 2009

Went to this restaurant in lovely Rincon because we love tapas, however I don't know if they are hurting from the economy or just know they can gouge unsuspecting Americans who want to be trendy, but the portions are really ridiculously small! The empanadilla was the only decently sized/price thing on the menu. We paid $10 for two small scallops--not even regular size!! Also we had the ceviche which came out as about $12 for a quarter cup of some fish. Really disappointing too is that our waitress took our drink and food order and then disappeared from our table for the rest of the night. Hopefully they share tips because we had three different servers, but our main waitress really seemed to be distracted while talking to us. I had to repeat my drink order twice because there was no eye contact as she stared at one of her other tables. Very disappointed that we were fooled by the idea of nice tapas. Had to go get Taco Maker afterwards because despite paying $75 for a meal, we were still hungry! I have never had that experience in my life. Boo Casa Islena, shame on you.

“Our favorite restaurant in Rincon, PR”
Reviewed January 13, 2009

We stayed at Pelican Point on Sandy Beach from 12/18/08 until 12/30/08. Casa Islena was almost within walking distance. I had read reviews on the internet, and Casa Islena was "on my list to try."
The first night we were hooked. The second time we returned with new friends. The third time we we returned again by ourselves. The food is fantastic! For the price, dinner for 3 with drinks for $50, you are guarenteed an amazing meal.
