We had been disappointed in other beaches in Puerto Rico - but this one did not disappoint. We arrived early so our kids could take a surf lesson with Ramses from Surfing Puerto Rico, and we ended up staying for many more hours. The surf wasn't high - which was good for our kids' lesson - and they ended up snorkeling around the lighthouse point as well. Would strongly recommend fins or water shoes when snorkeling - the ocean floor is covered with sea urchins and this does not make for a good situation when your child steps on one and you don't have a needle handy to remove the spines - as we learned the hard way. Nice trees to sit under near the beach too, which was a plus.
