“Great place”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

I visited this hotel last july 2012. I went with 2 friends for 3 nights and we had a great time.

We arrived early but they gave us our bracelets to be able to enjoy the pool and the beach until check in time. The beach is beautiful, you were able to rent jet ski's and they had boat rides too. I think the best part of the hotel is the swim up bar. Our favorite bartender there was Gilberto, Man can he make some great drinks. He was very friendly and on point.

The first night we ate at the restaurant, we had mofongo's with seafood!! Soooo delicous! The next morning we went to the breakfast buffet but for my taste. Not good at all, the food was cold, the bacon was soggy and there was'nt even enough chairs for everybody.

We had a room with 2 full size beds. Not luxurious but nice and clean, we did'nt mind because we were'nt on vacation to stay in the room anyway. LOL.

Our second day there we went to ride four track. I am so sorry I don't remember the name of the guy who gave us the tour, but we got his number from the hotel. We had a blast it was so much fun.

There was a beach wedding in the afternoon, beautiful sunset and very romantic ( but not so private since everybody at the beach were uninvited guests ha ha )

Overall We had such a nice time, it's a great getaway.

This hotel from the outside area looks beautiful, but once you walk into the room it looked depressing. They need renovation. We had old linen, old towels, an uncomfortable bed and lots of mosquitoes in our room. I have to say the staff was nice and the swim up bar area was nice as well. If you’re looking for a quite place to stay, I have to say this hotel is a good choice. I can’t comment on food as we did not dine at the hotel. However, the location of the hotel is excellent. There are all kinds of stores and restaurants nearby. This is a beautiful property, but I will not return until this hotel is renovated. It needs a lot of TLC.

This hotel is sort nice in a Florida Keys sort of way. In the Keys you pay a pretty expensive price for a location and most of the hotels in the Keys are older properties. This is the case with Rincon of the Seas. It is not a bad place by any means but don't go there expecting the Ritz Carlton. The hotel has a beautiful pool and gardens area and the rooms are clean but defiantly older. One of the complaints that I saw is the deal about the refrigerator charge. I totally agree with the other complaints. The unit is already in the room and it should be included in the rate. Last year when we stayed here the breakfast was made to order and this year it was a buffet. Not bad or anything but the made to order breakfast was better. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. There was this one young lady and her english translated name would be Little Star. She was very sweet and pleasant but most of the staff were very nice.

Room Tip: 321 is a very nice room with a great view. It is called a garden view but you can also see the ocea...

This hotel is located two hours away from the airport in San Juan. You will either pay $200. each way to and from the airport or rent a car. The outside area of the hotel is beautiful, the ocaen view is breath-taking, the staff is very helpful and professional. The rooms need complete renovation. There is no carpet on the floor and the tiles can be cold and slippery because of the moisture coming from the ocean. The entire bathroom needs to be updated, there was rust on the tiles and it was dingy and damp it was just plain nasty! The outside picture is exactly what it looks like. Its great for families with children, however it was very boring because there were no activities day or night for either children or adults. Not even at the bar area.

Room Tip: request a room with ocean view. Its beautiful in the morning

Ill start out by saying the hotel location was good, not to noisy or close to town. The swim up bar was a plus (although the pool was freezing) the bartenders were awesome. The hotel food was a big surprise in which it was reasonable priced and good. The front desk was no help at all for activities in the area. They had no information on where to eat or even whats around the hotel. Ocean room would have been good if not for the palm trees that were blocking the view, make sure you ask for the 5th floor so you don't have blocked views.

Room Tip: 5th floor for ocean views.

We just came back from Rincon and we used a special offer from Groupon to stay during weekdays. We had a great time!!! They gave us a first floor cabana and didn't have any problems with music noise. The staff was super friendly and the room was in good condition. A/C worked fine It seemed like a new unit ) and the room was ready and clean on time. If you just want to lay back and chill out, that's the place because there's nothing else to do besides going to the beach, eat, drink, and relax at the pool. By the way, the bartenders were fabulous and the service at the swim-up bar was excellent.

However, I would like to give some recommendations because you have a beautiful property, but you are not taking advantage of it. You should have waiters at the beach and also walking around the pool area. There is nothing to eat or drink at the beach and if you offer the service, the hotel will make a lot of money!!! Also, at the pool area, you have to walk and get your drinks and food, but if you have people around offering the service, the guests will be more tempted to consume $$$ and it doesn't cost you a thing! Another thing that bothered me a bit was the use of plastic cups. At the breakfast buffet everything was good, nice presentation and table settings, but then you had to use plastic cups for the juice....it doesn't look good!!!!!! And using glasses won't hurt your pocket either. They used plastic cups everywhere around the property and that makes it look kind of cheap or informal. And on the same topic, when we arrived at the room, we only had 1 glass. We asked the housekeeper for another glass since we are a couple, and she said they were " short of glasses". The same thing with the beach towels..they gave us the small ones ( the ones used in the shower ) and she said they were " short of big towels". I mean, it's not a big deal, but I think that with a small investment on glasses and towels will make a difference in the perception of the guests, especially the ones coming from the States..

About the location I have to say that it's excellent. There are all kinds of stores and restaurants around and it's right at the beach. However, it's not exactly a swimming beach...if you are in Rincon, you must expect waves and heavy currents. But it's a beautiful place!

On the other hand, I have to say that the food was really good and the service was fast. We really enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend the place to my friends. Just remember...it's the little details that make a difference on a guest's experience!

We knew we weren't staying at top hotel but after arriving we were disappointed even more. The front staff were SO not helpful we felt that we were always bothering them if we needed to ask anything. There is no information available at the front desk for ANY local restaurants, etc. Don't bother paying extra for "ocean view deluxe room". After finally getting into room, the "view" was no more than a partial roof, partial pool and very partial ocean view. After questioning this room, the supervisor very nastily gave us her version of "deluxe". Very disappointed. The safety latch inside the front door was not present, the room safe was locked from another code and after three requests in four hours, our refrigerator was finally delivered. The grounds are ok, not as many lounges available. The pool was cloudy, and bugs afloat all the time. Beach is okay.
