Elk horn corral, fan and brain corral. Most likely will see a turtle. Try to visit when the surf is not up...winter months can be iffy, but during the summer more of a sure thing. This can be a little difficult for children to enter the water...sometimes beach is sandy ...other times corral

We went to the steps beach, very difficult to park, take small narrow car! Ok snorkeling, better than other beaches near Rincon.

Snorkeled around with a school of about 500 large black and electric blue fish through some coral. They led me around until we came across a sea turtle swim/flying through the water. Followed him for a while and tried to pet him. Then we ate shrimp empanadas. Today didn't suck. The previous day we came here to snorkel, and my husband found not just 1, but 2 octopi(?) who were in a territory dispute. so fascinating! Also this place is great for beach glassing. Come here. get some sun, walk along the beach, snorkel, and then get some lunch/snacks from the food truck when you're all tired out. A perfect beach day.

Look for signs for Steps Cafe, parking is just beyond the cafe and is very limited. Go early for parking and less wind. The entrance to the snorkeling area is a little tricky. Take your equipment with you and scoot over the rocky ledge on your butt. After about 20 ft you will reach deeper water with a snady bottom. Put your equipment on her and enjoy. Get out the same way. Snorkeling is best to the left of the beach.

We stayed right on the beach, and this was a great spot for snorkeling. Also there were tide pools for our 1 year old to play in. When the surf gets up it really gets up, but a SUP board is a must to take out into the reef to look down and see cool stuff.
