This was a repeat visit for us, and it didn't disappoint. The food was really good quality and just the right portion size. The service was friendly and efficient. We had a Travelzoo voucher which made it great value, as it can be a bit pricey. I would suggest that they do a fixed price menu in addition to the a la carte, as this would definitely be a winner. With so few decent restaurants locally, they could sweep the board.

We were aware of this restaurant but had never been, so we popped in for lunch (Wed). It was quite quiet, about 4 covers, mostly elderly. The atmosphere was calm and genteel.
Service was quick and efficient. The interior is quite small, perhaps a dozen tables at most?
The food was delightful and plentiful. The portions are generous. Beer was good (6X)
Car parking was adequate and wheelchair users should have no difficulties.
The decor appears spartan but deliberately so.
We will definitiely go again!

Just back from our lunch here, which we enjoyed immensely. We had a Travelzoo voucher and chose to use it for Saturday lunch. The pub was fairly busy, with the main area completely full. We were impressed with the menu choice, and my husband chose things we don't often see - roe and kidneys, followed by apricot tart tatin. My scallops with black pudding and duck confit were wonderful, followed by divine honeycomb ice cream. The portion sizes are very generous, I don't think they would lose many customers if they were smaller, everything is so tasty and well-presented. We took advantage of the sunny weather and wandered around the village (attempting to walk off some of our over-indulgence!), the pretty little church is worth a visit.

Our friends directed us here with some TravelZoo vouchers... OMG have we been missing out! A little out of the way and therefore lovely and quiet, easy to reach car park.
Wonderful little bar, with very warming fire.
We were a roudy group of 8 and they placed us in the seperate room, which I loved, but other guests felt was too quiet, however we may have spoiled other diners experience had we been in the main part.
The waitresses were attentive yet not intrusive.
The food however was amazing, beautifully presented, tasty and plenty of it.
All 8 of us had different starters and main courses.... we were all envious of each other... something to suit every one on this menu... personally the desert (chocolate nemesis) finished me off.... I never wanted to eat again...!
Cant wait to go back again either for cute romantic dinner for 2 or as another big group.

my only little quibble would be the size of the toilet... barely there!

We booked for a meal for two with our Travelzoo Voucher and were delighted with our evening. Loved the welcoming coal fire on entering pub, found owners/staff really friendly. Food was excellent, only few people there because of snow. Had a lovely chat with plenty of advice on wine and food. Will definitely return.
