We visited this winery to try their wine. The door was opened as we approached and we were ushered into the bar.

Tried their wines. Excellent venue - best in Summmer weather but pleasant to sit and admire the view.

Extensive wine list. Great service. Special place.

went to the restaurant for drink on a sunday afternoon which was ok although the barman wasn't the friendlyist person in the world.we then thought that we would buy a bottle of wine to take home.we went to the cellar door where you buy their wine from; there was a guy there cleaning glasses who looked at us but didn't acknowledge us or ask if we wanted any help we wandered around for a while in the room ;when it was obvious that they didn't want our money we left vowing never to return ;maybe a dairy farmer from taranaki s money is not good enough for them

I was part of a group of eight that went to the winery on Queens birthday weekend. We knew It would be busy because of the long weekend but then the restaurant should also have realised this. They were extremely understaffed for the weekend, this is however not an excuse for the way we were treated. When we arrived no one acknowledged that we were there and we had to clear our own table. We had to ask four times for someone to come to our table to take our order. We ordered a bottle of wine and when it came to the table we had to drink out of water glasses because they said that there were no clean wine glasses left in the whole WINERY! Interestingly we seemed to be the only table having to put up with this. Would have been better if they had said there will be another five minute wait for the wine glasses. When the food finally came out (plates slammed down on the table) we did not get our full order. We asked a waitress if she could go see where our food was but instead the waitress bad mouthed the member of our table that had been talking to her within ear shot of us. This is completely inappropriate behaviour! The only time a staff member came over to our table without being asked was to clear the plates when we had finished eating. When paying we told the person at the bar how un happy we were with the service, their excuse was that there was no other staff on the island however there is a city of over 1 million people a short ferry ride away.... We had had such a great day at the other wineries in this area of Waiheke but our experience at Cable Bay put a dampener on the end of the day.
