“Wow!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2014

Is the only word that truly describes our lunch time experience at Mud Brick. We booked lunch for four without a tour.
Service: Wonderful, attentive without being overwhelming. One of our party had a mild gluten intolerance but we hadn't advised them at the booking but when we requested some gluten free bread with our starter, nothing further was mentioned except there was always a gluten free option in every dish we shared! They anticipated our requirements without our needing to advise them! Nice.
Food: We ordered from the Ala Carte menu as we thought we didn't want to spend the 3 hours they suggest for their degustation, however we spent over 3 hours anyway as we liked it so much. The food presentation was exquisite but the combination of flavours was unbelievable. The Pork dish was outstanding.
Venue: It would be hard pressed to beat the view from the indoor window tables on a lovely sunny afternoon as my photo shows with views back to Auckland.

“One of the best wineries on Waiheke”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014

This was one of the last wineries we visited on the island - there was plenty of outdoor seating in the beautiful gardens and the staff provided efficient and friendly service. Unfortunately we had eaten lunch at another winery and were too full to eat but the menu looked amazing and I kind of wished we had held off and eaten there. The only thing that I can fault is that unlike some of the other wineries, you have to do the tastings inside and cannot have them at your table.

This has to be one of the best meals I have ever had the pleasure of eating, everything from the welcome, the staff, the food and the amazing views make this a very special place. If you are staying in Auckland it is a great day trip by ferry and not to be missed.

“Delicious!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014

We enjoyed lunch at Mudbrick as part of a private wine tour of Waiheke. Having heard much from friends and having read rave reviews, of course we arrived with high expectations. Wow we weren't disappointed! Having already had a stunning breakfast at The Boatshed we decided upon two entrees each (still gluttonous I know) and truly enjoyed the scallops, duck and venison entrees with matching wines. It's a beautiful location for a special occasion - or just worth saving up for just to enjoy the amazing culinary skills of clearly dedicated chefs. By the way, the wines are good too!

“Over promised and under delivered”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014 via mobile

Right from the start we found the service average - we didn't get enough menus at the outset and service didn't improve from there. Some of the food was delicious (oysters and scallops) but the mains were not great - all too busy with too many flavours going on! We were disappointed for what we were paying - expected great food and service.
