“One of the warmest welcoming !!!”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We just stayed one night but will definitly talk about this hostel and come back in this place if we decide to travel around Ring of kerry or Gap of Dunloe another time.
We felt like home in this place and received one of the warmer welcoming we ever had in a hostel.
You can feel the positive atmosphere as soon as you arrive, and this impression is confirmed in the course of the visit.
Rooms are nice and verry clean
This place is great for two people or for a group of friends and really well thought with games, books, travel guides and fresh eggs in the morning !!!
We were so happy to be the first french people in this hostel who we hope will know a real success.

We enjoy making all our guests feel at home in our hostel.
It is a blessing to be located so close to the Gap of Dunloe which is great for walking and hiking.
It is great you felt at home and relaxed and with the board games and Dvd collection there is plenty to do in the evening time if you want to stay in.

Have just finished an 11 day tour of Ireland and this hostel is one of the gems. Be sure to say "top of the mornin" to John and the service gets even better than others have described. You will have trouble finding a friendlier, more comfortable or better value place to stay. Oh and don't try to put the rooster back if he gets out.

Our rooster is very active and the guests seem to like his playfulness.
It is very true that " Top of the mornin to ya" will grant all customers with better service.
Thanks for the review and hope to see you back in Ireland again.

If i come back to Ireland this is the place to stay!
When you arrive at Kerry airport its a quick drive through an amazing landscape until you arrive at the hostel and than we directly felt at home! Even if you dont have a real plan what to do over there the owner and his hole family is helping you with lots of ideas! It really doesnt matter what the weather is like there is always something to do for example are there lots of nice walks so you can go hiking, fishing and learning more about the history of this town. When you come back after a long day trip the owner cared already for a nice cosy open fire in the living room! The talks and games in front of it with the hole "hostel family" are one of my favorite memories! And when you get up for your next trip a lovely breakfast is waiting for you! Sometimes even with your own self made irish bread which you learned how to make it the night before! You dont feel like a tourist who just get a few impressions about Ireland you feel like a friend who gets a real idea about the irish way of living!
Every little detail about my stay at Dunloe View Hostel makes me miss it already!

Thank you for your review. We are really ideally situated for touring the southwest of Ireland and only 20 minutes from Kerry International Airport. It is great that you found us helpful as we always try to give our guests as much information on what to do in our area.

I left the hostel three days ago but I already envy all the people who are going to stay there! You will receive such a warm welcome that you will be unwilling to leave the place. Apart from superb conditions you can expect a lovely atmosphere, cosy rooms and great people. I wish all hostels were like this one. Keep my fingers crossed for the business.

Travelling with a group of 15 is never easy, Dunloe Hostel made it a breeze. Warm fire waiting on arrival along with a very smiley John! Rooms are comfortable and clean, those flat biscuit pillows are nowhere to be seen. Breakfast will set you up for the day ahead with freshly baked brown bread and free range eggs. Hostel is very close to Killarney and its surrounding sites, allowing for an escape from city life. The kitchen is fully equipt and was a pleasure to cook in not to mention eating at their massive dinning room table which proved handy for 15 +. If you are looking for a home from home, this is the place to be. I have never met a more friendly, helpful host. Will be back to visit soon!

Thanks for the review and commenting on my lovely smile :).
It was a pleasure to deal with your group and glad you all enjoyed your stay with us. Our brown bread and free range eggs are really going down well with people as well as the cereals and marmalade we have for our breakfast.
Until next time take care.

Had an excellent stay there, was the best hostel I have stayed in, felt more like a Bnb than a hostel and great value for money too. John was a great host during our stay there and was full of information about things to do nearby. It is a short drive to both Carrantouhill, Killarneyand the Gap of Dunloe with beautiful mountain views outside the hostel. Having the goat, chickens and hoemmade bread and fresh eggs for breakfast added a nice touch also. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay!! :)

We like to keep all our guests well fed in the mornings and with the self-service breakfast comes our home-made Irish soda bread which is a family recipe we can't tell anyone the secret. :)
