We have stayed here many times, though not recently. It has never 'gone off' during this time and the décor is as nice as ever. The lakeview rooms are especially good and ours had heaps of room to walk around and to store things, with a large excellent bathroom and great balcony.

Everything smacks of quality and the staff are well trained and helpful. I could spend a long time here.

The breakast is in the Panorama Restaurant with stunning vistas over Lough Leane, and there is a fantastically extensive range of things to eat. The one thing that detracts is the quality of the bacon and sausage and the rest of the cooked food, which is not up to standard. mostly tasteless and uninspiring and they should address this. I do understand that a change to a buffet style of breakfast can't taste as well as an individually cooked one, but other hotels do this bit better. What is very good is all the rest of the stuff on the menu and the croissants in particular are superb.

A great place for a relaxing holiday, and even though it was pretty packed over the holiday period and the Killarney Races are about to take place. The other guests never seem to impinge on you and the sitting areas in the hotel are wonderful.

A terrific place, with a great avenue up to the hotel that is extremely impressive, fabulous garden area at the front and access onto a walkway and jetty at the lake.

Room Tip: A lake facing room with balcony, especially the superior rooms.

Got off to a rocky start as bed had not been made when we checked in. They promptly moved us and left a bottle of bubbly and strawberries to make up for the inconvenience, which was appreciated. The spa is top class and we spent a lot of time there in the outdoor hot tub taking in the breathtaking views of the lakes. The only slight qualm was that there were a lot of kids there which doesn't fit with a truly relaxing spa experience so maybe even the hot tub could be made a child-free zone! Other areas are signed as child-free but it wasn't enforced. We went for a walk around the grounds which are beautiful. The bed was huge and comfy. The breakfast was good quality, delicious and plentiful with more stunning panoramic views at our table. We then spent much of the rest of the day in the spa again. So all in all a lovely treat for us and with a few tweaks it could be exceptional.

stayed here for a midweek 2 night break. arrived after the recommended time for check in 3.15 but our room wasnt ready. we were given vouchers for a coffee in the bar while we waited. This was served a a grumpy female bartender. had to wait an hour and twenty mins for our room.. not what you want after a long drive. Got to our room and there was a meal tray outside the door from the previous occupants.... it was still there 10 hours later.. not good enough. Room was lovely. very comfy bed. amazin views. staff in the restaurant wer excellent. very good wine list. we ate there both nights.. leisure centre was excellent . Especially the steam room. Best i was ever in.

Located right next to the golf course and the lake, this is an excellent hotel from check-in to breakfast.
There is direct access even to the lake which not only affords great views, but also remarkable water quality.

One Saturday night stay but boy, was it memorable. It all started with a welcoming arrival around 11am when we checked in. As guests, since we were too early for our room, we were swiftly introduced to the wonderful spa team who showed us around the truly beautiful world class spa and facilities. We had treatments booked so had a relaxing well thought out experience for a couple of hours. This was followed by time on in the pool and spa salad lunch by the multiple warm and cold indoor and outdoor pools. Didn't try the fully equipped gym but it looked pretty comprehensive. Then it was time to visit our room (accurately described as spacious by others here) with the most amazing view of the lavender beds and gardens with the stunning lake, islands and mountains beyond. The weather was fab so we could sit on the room's balcony and watch the fashion at a wedding reception in progress on the terrace below. After a peaceful afternoon, we walked around the grounds down to the lake jetty and in to dinner which was an experience, although everyone seemed to be of like mind. We had the chateaubriand (to be recommended) and a nice red (from their decent list) which was all superb. The staff were all very helpful and the Austrian lady on staff was good fun, recommending an Irish version of an Austrian fruit dessert. Just when we thought it couldn't get much better, we adjourned to back to the terrace for fabulous cocktails (and I even had a semi-annual cigar). We had a stroll back down to the lake to see the lights of the wedding venue off to one side, well out of usual impact range at hotels. After that once we were back at the terrace, the whole jetty area glittered and boomed for several minutes of excellent fireworks. Coincidental but all the more memorable for it. The next morning, breakfast buffet was in the same dining room and suitably tasty with omelettes cooked to order with buffet and so on. We plan to make it a quarterly event, circumstances permitting. Would stay longer but that would be spoiling ourselves, and harder to schedule around the kids !

Room Tip: Choose a Lakeside room, higher floor and centrally in the main building, or closer to the lake towar...

We recently enjoyed a 4 night stay at the hotel on the shores of Loch Lein. The images in the hotel's web site are entirely accurate - amazing views, decor and facilities. The Panorama restaurant is outstanding and offers excellent cuisine and service. If you are lucky with the weather, the views from your table will amaze you. The best tables are typically allocated first, so plan to eat early. After dinner, retire to the bar for an Irish malt - or two!
The bedrooms overlooking the lake are very spacious and well equipped, and, of course, come with a balcony overlooking the lake. Avoid rooms on the lower floors as these can be noisy due to The Brasserie area below as well as uncontrolled children running wild.
The Spa is wonderful and although the prices are not cheap, you should indulge in a treatment or two.
Before leaving, make certain you get a copy of the hotel's recipe for Guiness and walnut bread!
A 5 star resort with a well deserved reputation to match.
We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Use upper floors above the Brasserie and away from the formal gardens - can be noisy at night. Check...

My girlfriend and I just spent a night in the hotel and had a great time. The views were spectacular and the room was brilliant.

The highlight however was our morning canoeing. Although 150 euros for the two of us for 3 hours, it was brilliant. Our guide John was a pleasure and took us all around the Lough and showed us some local gems. The O 'sullivans cascade is a sight to behold and worth the cost of the trip alone!
