I couldn't have dreamt of a better, more relaxing place to stay on Cape Breton. This is absolutely the place to stay to relax and recharge mind and spirit. The prime location on the Cabot Trail and right on the beach meant plenty of wildlife watching and easy access to activities. The property itself is stunning, and everything on it has been carefully and lovingly built and taken care of. The room was spacious and comfortably appointed, and the breakfasts were fantastic! I had a different one each morning, and each was delicious. Lonnie and Roy, the proprietors, did anything and everything in their power to make sure that we had a nice stay. The dogs are very sweet, but also small and well-trained (if you are not a dog person, I doubt you will even have contact with them). I nearly cried when we left. Staying there felt like a present to myself.

Spent 2 nights here while we were driving the trail. Stayed in the Garden View room. Nice place, Lonnie and Roy were very nice. Cute dogs. I enjoyed my omelet breakfast but my wife thought her pancakes were a little wheaty. Love the view and the hot tubs. There was little bit of the seaweed smell on some days, but that is because of the location- what can you do. Went driving early in the morning and saw a moose- fantastic. Check out their collection of famous photographs- really cool. Great place for families. I did find a dead ant in our bathtub.

Lonnie & Roy are excellent hosts!! Lonnie makes a wonderful breakfast & for us, of all the food we had in Cape Breton, Lonnie's breakfast was truly the best!! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the view is awesome. We watched seals in the water while eating breakfast too. If you have any questions about where to go and what to do, they are very helpful. Lastly, Cape Breton is a gem!!

Our travel goal was; to relax, meet people in the area, have a cottage experience by the ocean, and enjoy doggy friendly accommodations. ALL our goals were met!!
Lonnie and Roy have dogs - so welcomed Scrappy with open arms.
Lonnie directed us to local attractions i.e. boat ride to see puffins, birds and seals on islands we could see from our porch swing.
Roy and Lonnie are genuinely interested in the care and welfare of travellers. One cottage is wheelchair accessible. Play equipment for children is located throughout the property.
We could even have campfires! Something your can't have in the city.
A warf where we could buy lobster is just five minutes from "home". We quickly found ourselves calling the cottage home. We stayed one week - not long enough.
Located on the Cabot trail, Sea Parrot ocean view is must see/ stay place.

Room Tip: All rooms are open concept, with ocean views. Cottages are decorated according to different themes...

We've been going to the manor for 4 years, each time we have had the best experience we've had. Accomations were very nice and clean. The first three times we had sayed in the room called the Garden Room, which we thought was the best room we had ever had. The scenary is so beautiful and breath taking. You can see the famous bird island and you are right on the ocean. The waves can put you to sleep easily. The last time we were there we stayed in the trailer that they had set up closer to the beach, this stay was better than we had expected. It's so private and romatic and it has the best view. This place has evertything that everypne can ask for. They have lots of things to do, like baskeball, camp fires, sand boxes. We really like the hot tubs, They one that you sit in and look right out at the ocean, what a view from a hot tub.........watching the sun sets, with all the beautiful colorsin the sky. The owners are very personal, they make sure that your stay is everything that you had wished for. Lonnie makes the worlds best breakfast and supper, always a choice and always fresh. They always have a smile for you and they have little dogs that is a highlight to see. I would highly recommamnd this place. We thoght that you had to leave Cape Breton to get a place like this to stay, but here it was right in my backyard.

Room Tip: There is no pool but they have two hot tubs. All the suites are beautuiful, it depends on which room...

Both my wife and I had an enjoyable and relaxing time at Lonnie and Roy's place on the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton. Lonnie was very helpful in helping us to organize different day trip suggestions around Cape Breton and was always genuinely interested in helping and making sure we were comfortable and full fed. Their Yorkie dogs are also so adorable and playful.
We'll definitely be back to the Sea Parrot Ocean View Manor if we're ever in Cape Breton. Her property is situated in a great spot to start the Cabot Trail drive if you're eventually planning to drive on the Cabot trail. (If you're planning to drive the Cabot trial, its best to go counter clockwise around the island!!) After a day of travelling and seeing the sights, Lonnie will encourage you to rest in the hot tub by the ocean. Great location, great hosts and great food!!

We personally stayed in the Garden Suite and enjoyed the view and the amenities within it. We had breakfast outside in the deck in the gazebo where there was fresh air, no noises but the sounds of nature... hummingbirds made regular visits while we were eating breakfast. Simply a great place to stay. My wife and I already miss the time we had there. We'll be back if we ever get to Cape Breton again!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, the Garden suite which we stayed in was great, close to Lonnie's house...

We stayed at the Sea Parrot for a couple of days at the end of June 2011 whilst touring the Cabot Trail. Great relaxing and beautiful surroundings and a great location. Excellent breakfasts too and it was nice to come back to our Garden Apartment Suite after a day of sight seeing and have a few drinks by the ocean. The room was very clean and there was a lot of attention to detail. Lonnie was a very welcoming host. We would love to go back in the future.
