“Hard to find but lovely”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

Myself and my partner went here yesterday.
This place is not very well sign posted so sat nav defiantly recommend.
When we arrived we found it very difficult to locate the main reception to pay the entrance fee,on the internet it says £10 each but when we got there it was £5 each.
The gentleman we spoke too in the reception area ,which we found was what seemed to a small caffe , was veryy helpful and informative about the different displays in the maze.
This is the largest headge maze in the world however it didn't feel like it as unfortunately it didn't take that long to complete.
It would have been nice to have a bit more information on the plants in the main areas and displays and maybe even a little trail for children keep them entertained an take an interest in plants and garden art work.
all in all tho it's very quiet and lovely a nice place to visit.

Thank Kat M

“Children loved it”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

We visited with a 3 year old and a 7 year old. They absolutely loved it. We used a Groupon voucher which slashed the entrance fee from £20 for a family to £10. I would not say it is worth £20 but for a breakdown of £2.50 each I thought it was worth the money. The maze hedges were good with plenty of surprises en route to excite the children when they came across them. The Japenese garden was disappointing. There was a portaloo near the entrance.

“Different...but pricey”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

A fun hour or so spent in a hedge maze peppered with statues, cherubs, gardens and other surprises (eg a rocking horse!). It is run by a lovely couple who are very friendly. We enjoyed the first hour finding things but then we started to get really lost and the kids got scared - luckily we found the escape route! I found it great fun and something really different.

BUT, it was a bit expensive - ten pounds for an adult. £20 for a family of 4. Though I guess we could have spent a bit longer in there - maybe 1 and a half hours if we hadn't given up! Nothing else to do on site - a small portaloo (a very nice one though!) and a few tables outside to have a cuppa on (very relaxing in the sun!) or a piece of cake.

It would have been better had we been given a list of things to find in the maze so we could tick them off or at least have an idea of whether we had missed anything. I think this would really enhance the experience.

But overall, a fun hour or so that is well worth a trip out to if you are in Conwy, llandudno or Betsy.

“A hidden gem...”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

I first came here two years ago, when we passed it on the road and thought it was worth a try. It is a beautiful and fascinating place. Very quirky, highly individual and full of plants and statues. Unlike many other mazes, the Conwy maze itself is well designed - you will quickly get lost - but it leads you through innumerable little locations and set pieces. Behind the garden is a footpath up to a sequence of waterfalls and rockpools - definitely check these out. The owner/designer of the maze is chatty and informative.

We visited this place last week and were greeted by the owner; she was very friendly and invited us to walk around the place. Unfortunately, the place is a damp; we saw nothing but rubbish, old washing machines and more rubbish. There were some sculptures spread around but it did not look like it is depicted on their website where they describe being "Specialists in Antique and Contemporary garden statuary, tubs, and architectural antiques". However, we saw absolutely nothing of the kind. They also boast the world's largest maze; we did not go into it but the entire environment looked a mess. They charge £10 admission to the maze. We left and went to Bodnant Garden and paid £7:50 to see a very well looked after and wonderful garden. Finally, the toilet was the highlight of my visit; I thoroughly enjoyed using it; very clean and well decorated. In conclusion: do not waste your time. I advise the owners to clean up their act; their idea is a good one but the reality is that it is just a dream not a developed concept.
