Description: Regrettably, after 6 1/2 years, we have placed the business on the market. The bar remains open during evenings as advertised. The kitchen is now shut. Thank you to all our loyal customers for their wonderful support.

We have had a few meals at the Wheelwrights Arms now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is not often you find a pub where the menu is so interesting and varied and the food is homemade and delicious!
The pub has a cosy feel to it and the landlords are most welcoming.

I will certainly recommend it and we will definitely be back!

We were passing through Matfield on the way back from visiting friends and stopped in - the pub is right on the road and has good parking. very quaint, overlooking the Village Green.
We were greeted and attended to straight away - service very friendly.
We were pleasantly surprised to find the menu had some original dishes as well as the more traditional fish and chips and burger which came freshly prepared with homemade chips. Great portion sizes too!.
All in all, a really great stop and we'll be back :)

I have visited The Wheelwrights Arms many times in the last year and have never been dissapointed. I have never had food like it in any other pub. The menu is so creative, presentation wonderful and even the more traditional dishes have a modern flare. My husband and I are real "Foodies" and have recommended this pub to many of our friends, who have loved it equally as much. Service is also always spot on. There are lots of lovely walks surrounding the pub so we normally have a wander afterwards with our dogs. Must visit!

Popped into Wheelwrights for lunch. I had a wonderful mackeral salad ( not specifically on the menu but the Chef was happy to oblige) and my friend had wonderful fish and chips in the lightest of batter plus the obligatory mushy peas. . There is a choice of sandwiches and snacks but the main items on the lunch time menu seem a little over priced and perhaps that is why business seemed very slow. The current holders are trying to make a great pub here with excellent friendly service. The overall setting is excellent ..

Alwaysget good food and service but the fish and Chips is absolutely fantastic the only downside is that they dont like to give more than a handful of hand cut chips......
