My first time here and was greeted on arrival and had a drink outside as the weather was very nice
We had a set menu and they picked the wine for us. The food was first class well served. This was a great surprise and I will be going back as it is one of the best restaurant in the area

We have wanted to dine here for ages and so glad we finally have! The decor in the pub is so beautiful and the staff were really kind and welcoming from the start and throughout our evening. Great gin selection and the bar. The food was amazing - my fiancé had the quail for starter which was delicious. I had the lamb for main - I really enjoyed it. Loved the amuse bouche as well! Will definitely be coming back.

We go to the Poet whenever we can as it always exceeds expectations. The food is sublime but it is the staff that makes the difference. The Maitre’d (I don’t know his name) is always so friendly and lovely, it’s like going to a friend’s for supper. The rest of the staff are exceptional too, right down to their tweed waistcoats.
Can’t recommend highly enough.

Lovely atmosphere for a romantic dinner. Food is superb, but you need to save up for the special occasion, as it’s priced to reflect the quality.
