Ibis Styles Canberra Eaglehawk
Ranked #1 of 1 Hotels in Sutton
Reviewed February 22, 2014

I have stayed at this hotel under Rydges and now Ibis management and have been impressed always with the staff courtesy, satisfying breakfast and the natural beauty surrounding and within the grounds of the Eagle Hawk Resort.

Room Tip: Ensure you find out clearly where your room is located as numbers are difficult to see from your car...

This hotel is being advertised as 4 star property, but in real it's just a low budget motor inn with an old TV, poor furniture and weared out towels. Walls are very thin, so prepare to get up at 6am along with your neighbours. The only positive thing was kangaroos and rabbits feeding at the property grounds very close to public.

Room was clean and comfy, but had a funny smell due to wet carpet from bathroom.
Wall was a bit thin, I was able to hear neighbor in both rooms next door.
Plenty of Kangaroos about, even a rabbit.
As per other on this website suggested I brought Aeroguard and citronella candles, which we didn't end up needing. But the candle did help with the smell of the room.
Pool was nice but a little far to walk, also could use some shade.
Food was average, a little slow to serve. But staff made up for it with their friendliness.
Pizza bar was close and so was the bar, which was a bit disappointing.
In all, its not a bad place to stay for a budget overnight trip.

Room Tip: If go in summer ask for a room closer to the pool.

The room was a bit dated, the shower did not work properly and the bed coverings were at the end of their life. The lady checking us out was clearly bored.Would not stay their again and was not 4 star. Did see kangaroos outside but no view at all from room.

Was somewhat dubious after reading the reviews however we really enjoyed our stay. Check in was fine - 12md. Room and bathroom somewhat dated but clean, comfortable and roomy. Sat outside under the bull nosed verandah and enjoyed the bush setting. Poolside area nice - could do with some more shade eg umbrellas. Spa was nice and warm, pizza area not in operation. We didn't eat in the restaurant but nearby. Breakfast by the pool was enjoyable. Check out at 12md was a bonus.

Mystery hotel advertised on Lastminute as a 4 star hotel in Canberra. First - it was on the freeway and on the border between NSW and ACT.

We checked in late and was greeted with a reception - whilst not rude, clearly did not want to be there.

This is not a hotel - we were given keys and told to drive through a boom gate and find out rooms in the dark.

The room was old, smelly and had mosquitoes, cockroaches and moths. The bedspread was stained. If it wasn't nearly midnight, there was no way we would have slept in that room. I am still wondering whether I am infested with bed bugs.

On the bright side - There was air conditioning and the bed was soft. But that was not sufficient to compensate for the number of dead cockroaches that greeted my husband when he went for a shower.

Having stayed at many Accor hotels over the years, I was embarrassed for Accor that they had the Ibis name on this place.

Finally - don't expect a late sleep in. You can hear everything happening outside.
