Description: A Healthy and Tasty PizzaWe were greeted by a friendly staff who explained the various choices available. My wife and I opted for the "The Tree Hugger" aka vegetarian pie. The pie had a nice crust with plenty of veggies and a good amount of cheese. We enjoyed the pie very much. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Best pizza I have encountered so far in SWF and I should know since I am from NY. I am a big fan of thin crust pizza and this is pretty close to what I am used to in NY. My current diet is mainly organic foods so I love this place. BTW - this is a take-away place

Tasty fresh and delicious. The crust/cheese/sauce ratio is spot on. My favorite's are the Carnivore pizza and Jason's Pie calzone.

The short version is that the Truly Organic Pizza Company makes a good pizza with a very good crust, but...

(The long version.) ... some of what it isn't, (contrary to some other reviews here,) includes:
-It isn't a restaurant. It's a take-out pizza place, and one of the more limited ones at that. Aside from a calzone or two and a very limited selection of soft drinks, all you can get is pizza. Unlike "pizza restaurants' all over, they don't make hot or cold sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, or anything else, nor is there a place to eat your pizza; there are two round tables nearby, outside, but that hardly makes it a "restaurant".
-It is not a pizza place to compete with the great pizzerias of New York. The crust is surprisingly good, considering that their "oven" is the typical conveyor-belt, open "oven" of the type used by many chain pizza restaurants. While their crusts are good, they do not compare to the crusts produced in even a conventional brick, gas-fired oven, let alone the intense heat of a wood-burning or coal-fired ovens, nor does one get the tangy, smokey flavor those ovens produce.
-Lastly, a review compares T.O.P.C.'s pizzas to New york pizzas, and they are a totally different breed of pizza. Not a bad breed of pizza, (if I lived in their neighborhood, I'd probably be ordering from them,) but not a NY (or Chicago) pizza. One huge difference is the amount of tomato sauce on their pizza: very little! I'd guess the reason for this is that their open pizza oven cannot maintain a high enough cooking temperature to avoid a soggy crust with the amount of sauce a traditional pizza usually holds. (And, incidentally, New York pizzerias do not, make pizzas with pineapple on top and New York "mushroom pizzas" do have tomato sauce; Truly Organic's mushroom pizza does not!
-Lastly, the highest rated of the pizzerias generally use (or offer)homemade style, fresh mozzerella; T.O.P.C.'s cheese is organic, a good thing in my opinion, but it is a commercial-style cheese and does not taste the same.
So, ending this long version, pizza lover be aware. If you get a pizza from T.O.P.C. you will get a tasty variant on pizza, and, like us, you'll almost certainly enjoy it, but you won't be getting great NY or Chicago pizza. And you won't be eating in a restaurant!
My credentials for making these assertions include: Having eaten NY pizza in the neighborhood pizzerias of Brooklyn and Queens since pizza sold for fifteen cents a slice. Having eaten in some of the highest rated pizzerias in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, including Totonno's, the oldest pizzeria in the USA still operated by the original family, Grimaldi's, (both of which use coal-burning ovens,) and DiFara's of Avenue J, probably the most honored regular storefront pizzeria in New York.

As advertised, Truly Organic delivers on its promise of healthy, quality ingredients and tastes better than standard ingredients chain pizza stores. You can't miss by investing in a trip to pick one up and try it; you won't be sorry.
