“Great hotel at an excellent price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for one night in early Jan 2013. The first aspect that was excellent was the price. $99 for a family size room was great. The room was a good size, really nice bathroom and good furnishings.

The hotel has a fabulous indoor heated pool, with a child's pool and spa. There is also a sauna, which we didn't use.

We didn't eat at the restaurant, preferring to eat in town, but the bar and outdoor seating was very nice, with excellent service.

I stayed here a few times almost 30 years ago when it was new and it was a treat then. Years on and whilst things are older it is certainly a good place to stay. You know going in what you are getting so old bathrooms should be no surprise but they are still functional - you only need a working toilet, shower and sink and you get that,.So what if they are dated.

The rooms are large and have been somewhat updated and have everything you need (except clock radio). It was quiet, the staff were pleasant and at $124 for 3 people including continental breakfast a good deal.

Room Tip: At busy times I would suggest if you want a quiet room as for one away from the BBQ area.

Good rooms with great communal balcony which works well for groups and families alike. The water features in the grounds add a peaceful atmosphere to the facilities. Good service and cleanliness only added to the experience.

We stayed here three days over the Christmas period.
Our family suite was a massive room with separate bedroom and bathroom. The 3 kids were comfortably slept on 2 double sofa beds in the lounge room. We had a small kitchenette as well as large dining room, study area and balcony space.
Although we didn't use the pool ( much to the kids horror) it looked great- being indoors.
Our rate included a continental breakfast- which included fresh hot pancakes straight off the machine!
Bathrooms a little tired but functioned perfectly.

We stayed on the 9th december 2012 $120 with Breakfast special sunday night cost. A great place to stay very quiet and a large room with all the bells and whistles, The receptionist did not seem to be switched on but got over that and all went well.

We booked a family room and it was really spacious. It was also quite thoughtfully designed. We could put the children (up to three) in the bedroom (with own bathroom) to get to sleep and go to bed later in the Queen bed in the living area. It was also good value for money. There were a few odd things. The queen bed had no bed side lights and the connecting door to an adjoining room had no lock. We had parents in that room so it wasn't a problem for us, but in another situation we would have been very uncomfortable. There also wasn't good sound proofing to that room. Things were clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfasts were good (included in the tariff). Unfortunately the dining room is dark and unpleasant, which is surprising given its a large venue and a lot of the other spaces (bar, reception, conference rooms and grounds) are very pleasant.

Had a boys weekend in Mudgee, stayed at Parklands which is opposite the local racecourse, so it's a about a 2km walk from town centre, I say walk as there is only 7 taxis operating in Mudgee so it's pop luck to get one on a busy weekend. The rooms were big, beds comfy, first night we stayed in the first floor which has a large wrap around balcony.....second night stayed on the ground floor room which opens out onto large garden area. I see some other reviews have noted the hotel was expensive....but really, large rooms sleeping 3, lounge, and lovely outlook for $130 a night seems quite reasonable. The staff were very helpful and always had a smile. Apart from the walk into town I would stay again.
