Have now stayed at this park three times.
Great service, very friendly and fun staff,
Good position for travelling around Mudgee and day trips to other areas.
Amenities well maintained, caravan sites level and easy to get into.
Highly recommend.

Was greeted in a friendly and professional manner at reception. Had 4 cabins booked and were given 4 in a row which was great. Grounds are clean, tidy, and presentable. Cabins were clean and tidy and only criticism was mixed numbers of glasses/chairs in each cabin - 1 two person cabin had 4 chairs whilst 4 person cabin had 3 chairs. Main bedroom a little cramped in the 2 bedroom cabins but everything needed was provided (linen, towels, full size fridge etc) and we would stay again.

Room Tip: The 1 bedroom cabins are more spacious for a couple.

The caravan park was clean and well maintained. The site we were given had a large lamppost right in the middle of the site entrance. We were not impressed by the level of service at reception. We were kept waiting after a long day on the road by the receptionist and the client in front of us chit chatting about the dog games she played with her children and so forth. I am all for a friendly approach but when we got to the counter it was all efficiency and no chit chat.

This tourist park is a great place for a quiet getaway. We were staying in our caravan & noticed that the grounds were very well maintained & facilities nice & clean too. The pool looked so inviting although a bit too chilly for us! Plus it is pet friendly which is what we were looking for. Sites were grassy & spacious so you didn't feel 'boxed in' & they had lots of shade which is so important. We loved it!

We recently stayed here for an overnight stay on our way to Dubbo Zoo. We chose it as it refers to itself in all advertising etc as Mudgee's only 4 star tourist park. We booked a family cabin for 6 people.
The cabin was the smallest we have ever seen and once the lounge was folded out to sleep the 6th person you couldn't access the door to the cabin. We were only given linen for 5 people and the 'kitchen' had a tiny round table with 2 chairs.
The cabins were incredibly dated and run down - 2 star at best. If you are looking for a cheap overnight stop for one or two people then perhaps this park might be for you but absolutely not for families.

I generally avoid caravan parks, because they are depressing dumps. But Mudgee Tourist and Van Resort was the only place in Mudgee that we could find with a vacancy for the night before Anzac Day. I got lost on the way there (type the Lions Road address into Google Maps, not Mudgee Tourist and Van Resort, or you'll get lost too) and ended up in another caravan park which lived up to my fears: it looked exceedingly grim. So I approached MTVR with some trepidation.

But it was nice.

We'd booked a two-bedroom cottage. It was one of those steel prefab houses - the ones they use for mines and stuff. It had a nice balcony, a smallish but adequate living room, a dining table, a kitchen with a proper gas cooker and a microwave, two smallish but adequate bedrooms (both with double beds rather than twins), and a bathroom with a shower. Everything was clean and well-kept.

What was astonishing was the price. This was the night before Anzac Day, and Mudgee was completely sold out. But even so, this place was A$ 99 per night. There were no additional fees - they didn't even ask for a deposit.

There was a good kids' play area, which my kids really enjoyed. And there was a nice-looking swimming pool, which we didn't try as it was late April. The whole complex was grassy and nicely-landscaped and well-kept. It was not what I was expecting at all.

The sofa (which I think was a sofa-bed) was not very comfortable. And there were some home-decor choices that I wouldn't have made (cammo pelmets). But that's just me. Oh, and there were no electricity sockets in the second bedroom. And I wouldn't want to have to get in and out of the shower if I had mobility issues. And as someone else said, it's a fair way from the centre of town, so if you want to sample Mudgee's lovely pubs, you'll need to get a taxi or nominate a deso. But that's where my criticisms end.

All in all, this was an excellent place to stay. I'd certainly stay again.

Firstly, Mudgee is a wonderful place! We had an incredible visit. Do go, and treat yourself to a few of the wineries and also the local brewery! The Tourist an Van resort was sensational. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, the fellow travellers were fantastic and it was just a lovely atmosphere. The cabins had air conditioning- which was sorely needed on those 38 degree days! The pool also came in handy those days. And the whole place was clean and tidy. We loved every minute of our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return again soon!

Room Tip: The cabins were well priced, clean, well stocked and designed. Plus, they have a lovely porch to enj...
