Always love going to di Lusso, great pizzas and Italian wines. Friendly local staff and and nice view over their lake. Kid friendly with the gardens there and a friendly Golden Retriever that loves kiddies. Book ahead and get there before 2:30pm so you have time for desert.

Went there to try some wines and ended up staying for lunch! The wines are great, bottled beautifully also. The food is really nice also. Located next to a small lake and a great place to relax while having lunch and sipping wine.

We are a local family who were taking some visiting friends out to lunch, such a disappointing experience, the owner treated us horribly and was not a child friendly place at all, pizzas are over priced. We left before we had even finished our wine & pizza

Just read the previous review of lunch. We had lunch there on the same Saturday and I must agree, it was not up to their usual standard. Must've been the windy day! Although I had booked weeks ahead and was told we would have a great table, we were sat at the continually opening door at a table so small I had to place most of the unnecessary table ware on the floor. Thankfully, we were moved to a larger table as our pizza arrived. The pizza was so disappointing. Twelve cubes of lamb( so little I could count them) were thrown over a bare landscape of cheese and bright red sauce at a cost of $25 .We added a green salad which had to be commended on its dressing. Dessert time came at which I asked the waitperson for some alternate suggestions for an accompanying wine. She was not able to offer many suggestions and obviously forgot that a glass of their bubbles would have been perfect with the scrumptious fig cake.We discovered later that other patrons were enjoying such with their desserts and it had been recommended to them. We have had lunch at di Lusso's before and were really looking forward to enjoying another great meal but this Saturday would not be that meal. Then the wind changed! At the winery tasting bar, the service and attention was brilliant. As a member of the wine club, I received a respectable discount on my case of wine and our lunch bill became compliments of di Lusso. The bill was ripped up with great gusto and we felt very special but was told later by another purchaser that this was customary if you bought a case of wine. The shine was tainted a little. As I said, the wind blew both ways last Saturday; the restaurant side of the winery needs to greatly improve (and serve coffee) but hats off to the quality of wine and the customer service and attention that we received that day and always have, from di Lusso Estate Winery.

Returned here after having a good experience 2 years prior (we are a bunch of friends who visit Mudgee every year). Visited for wine tasting on the Friday and requested a booking for lunch Saturday, as we were a group of 12 we were advised that for that many we would have to order off a set menu (we should have booked 2 tables of 6) that would be $35 PP. After the previous time we thought it was a little high but on past experience were happy to pay. Rolled up on Saturday and found our table to be ready which was great, that's as good as it got. We were asked to select 4 pizzas from the menu from which each of us would get 3 slices, most got 2 but no one got more than 3. These were medium sized pizzas priced at $25 each ( have just returned from Italy were a larger wood fired pizza cost no more than €9) certainly nothing special!!! We were then served alternate servings of cannelloni and lasagne with a few lettuce leaves, most served undressed. In a good restaurant you would expect to pay $15 tops, what we received could be best described as pub bistro food, $12 value. When we enquired about desert we were told there was a half hour wait if we wanted to wait otherwise he would reduce the price to $30 per head. The consensus was that we had had enough disappointment so got out of there. We ended up paying $360 plus wine for a meal that at best should have been $260, we don't often leave a $100 tip!!! We as a group will never again visit this place, they have created 12 detractors who will never recommend them.
