I took my girlfriend up to mudgee for a surprise birthday weekend away, and was very glad to have picked Wombadah Guesthouse as our accommodation for the weekend. The hosts were absolutely fantastic, taking great pleasure in making sure our needs were satisfied and giving tips on how to get the best out ofthe area, without being too intrusive and allowing us to have some space.

The property was absolutely gorgeous, situated on a beautiful bushland hill overlooking their olive grove and the lush green fields beyond. There was tons of wildlife, at least 20 Kangaroos & Wallabies seemed to call the place their home, along with rabbits, lizards, and an amazing variety of Birdlife.

Our room was beautifully appointed, quiet, with a huge comfy king size bed. And the cooked breakfasts - Amazing! It wasn't the cheapest place in town but very good value for a special treat.

I stayed at Wombadah with my fiance this weekend. It was a lovely experience. Ray and Kay are friendly and good fun and give good advice for places to eat and drink. The view from the Guesthouse is beautiful, and the rooms are of the highest quality. Breakfast was delicious, and they didn't seem to mind us rising slightly later than the rest of the guests. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Not only is the accommodation exquisite and everything we were looking for to escape the hustle and bustle and sidle of Sydney and enjoy a quite (but lively) long weekend but the service in my experience was unparalleled. Outside of the day-to-day which included free roam of the guest house and use of all of the facilities Ray & Kay go out of their way in every regard. We had a random thought to do a wine tour with no pre-planning and within moments Ray was one the phone, had organised a local guide (who’s tour had already commenced) and personally drove us down to race and meet the group at the next winery. I could not recommend Wombadah highly enough and will definitely be going back!!!

Room Tip: Go for the Spa, we did and loved it!

I stayed at Wombadah with a friend over the June long weekend. Ray and Kay are extremely warm, passionate hosts who seem to really enjoy what they do. It is a small guesthouse with 4 rooms (plus a separate house for larger groups). The building seemed to be purpose-built and was well maintained with nice touches such as flowers and a bottle of local red wine in our room. Kay's breakfast was superb and there is a fab view from the rooms! Would definitely go back!

We arrived in the dark so were delighted to see the lovely view the following morning from the balcony, over the olive grove and surrounding country side.
The main house is wonderfully decorated, its a great layout for the 4 guest rooms and I loved the colour themes. The décor is opulent and modern, there's a nice bathroom with a great spa and a swimming pool too if the weather is good.
We really enjoyed the welcome from the hosts and the cooked breakfasts!

Overall, Mudgee was a beautiful town with great wineries. It was particularly pretty in the Autumn and is a great alternative to the now more commercialised Hunter Valley.

We enjoyed a wonderful break at Wombadah. I am wondering why we've been spending the extra time and money on short holidays to Vanuatu and Fiji, when such a relaxing holiday can be had in our own State. The town has plenty of character and the selection of wine is first class. If you like walking, cycling, great food and wine then this is the place. Ray and Kay took great care of us and their accommodation and hospitality was exceptional. Forget the hassle of getting to the airport and hanging around waiting for airplanes... jump in the car and support our local economy - you won't regret it! Highly recommended.
