The decision to visit was absolutely correct as this place is truly amazing. The stained glass windows are beautiful and words can hardly describe this place. Just go and you will not be dissapointed

Unbelievable beautiful this cathedral. Probably established in the 11th century, but this year her 425th birthday is celebrated, apparently counted from the year of full-completion, as earlier in the 12th century a first completion was registered(?) Really this hugh cathedral is an eye opener in architectural development and science. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful cathedral in the heart of the old city of Cuenca. The best time to come here is during Semana Santa, "the holy week" (=Easter week) when all Cuenca is full of processions that go around city. In case of rain, one of the processions will be inside this cathedral. I had one of the most interesting moments of my life last year when I was there, the church was full of mysteriously dressed people singing old Gregorian songs in this beautiful old cathedral and the atmosphere was even a bit spooky. Really recommend! t's also been said that there are only 7 churches in the world where one would be safe if apocalypse happens, these churches situated in the cross point of mountains and two rivers (or something like that) and cathedral of Cuenca is said to been one of those.

Entry fee was reasonable and included at no extra charge an electronic voice guide which took you to most of the points of interest. In the cathedral there is a huge life like arrangement of the last supper, however no translation into english and the guide did not cover it which was a shame.
