One of the best options to visit Cuenca. Very cosy and confortable hotel. Rooms are ok with confortable beds.
However sound isolation to other rooms needs to be improved,
breakfast is of good quality.
All staf is firendly and ready to help.

The hotel is located about 1 minute from the Plaza Mayor in the old city which is perfect for exploring the area. The bus stops almost right in front of the hotel which is very convenient. The staff were very helpful. Big comfortable bed. The room (and bathroom) were much larger than anticipated and clean as well. Breakfast in the connected restaurant was pretty good but a little pricey. There are probably better options around town. I would stay here again.

Extraordinary service from the front desk staff. They were especially helpful in helping us secure a tourist guide who seemed to be in short supply during our stay. Great location in the center of most sites. Big rooms, very well equiped. Public parking nearby, a bit expensive, but in a nice remodeled old building.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back are very quiet apparently because they face an alley without much pedestrian traff...

Right in the centre of the old town. Two minutes from the Plaza Mayor. Fabulous room, large four poster bed, very tasteful renovation of an old convent. Good buffet breakfast, on-site restaurant was also nice and good value. Front desk staff could have been friendlier. Walking distance to all the sights and contemparary art museums in Cuenca. Bus 1 or 2 right outside the hotel takes you to the centre of the 'new town' for 70c for some shopping and a greater choice of restaurants. Take a left before exiting the Plaza Mayor when heading downhill from the Cathedral and a left again and you will find Taberna Jovi on Calle Colmillo - it is so surpising to find what seems like a 1920s speakeasy with waiters in black-tie and jazz as the background music.

Stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of a vacation in Spain. This was the second time during the trip that we stayed at a hotel that was a converted convent, and what they both had in common was a lack of sound proofing between the rooms; more on that later. The hotel is located on the main street, towards the upper half of the old town located on the hill running between the two gorges. There is a large, public garage located a little farther up the street which is convenient for parking, and it charges about 16 euros for 24 hours. Farther up yet is free public parking, but I'm not sure if you can park there overnight, and we didn't use it. The room was a decent size, and clean enough. The staff at the reception desk were helpful and friendly, and if you need to access the internet they will loan you a laptop which you can take to your room. The only real downfall of this hotel was the lack of soundproofing. On the first night, one of our neighbours flushed their toilet and I jumped awake because I was sure it was the toilet in our room. On the second night we could plainly hear one of our neighbours snoring. We like to sleep with the windows open and the A/C off, but we had to close the windows and turn on the A/C to drown out the snoring.

A couple of things about Cuenca. It's billed as a cliff-side town with hanging houses, but in fact there are only 4 hanging houses, built next to the iron bridge, and only their balconies hang over the gorge. If you really want to see a cliff-side town in Spain, go to Ronda (which is worth the visit). If you do go to Cuenca, visit the cathedral and use the audio guide; we found it was one of the best that we had used during our trip, and it was an interesting visit. And if you run out of things to do in Cuenca, and don't mind driving, visit the castle in Belmonte, which is southwest of Cuenca - we were amazed at how large and well restored it was.

We spent 1 miserable night here after walking out on a nearby 2* hotel that had promised AC, and then admitted there was none when we arrived. The temperature was in the 90's, so we called around and booked this 4* hotel since they assured us they had AC. Well, theoretically they were not lying since the rooms did have AC units, but nobody had promised that they worked, and they did not.

The first room they gave us was on the top floor and was huge with nice furniture and a big bathroom. But being on the top floor, it felt like an oven and the tiny little AC unit that was in one corner of the room blew out slightly cool air with an airflow that was about the same as if you put your hand behind a computer cooling fan. No kidding, for a room that was at least 500 square feet, it was like a car AC vent turned on low and wouldn't have cooled that room if given a year to do so. So we asked to move and they moved us down 2 floors to a normal sized room with an AC unit that blew a little stronger, but still very weakly. But it seemed that given a few hours, it would probably be at least partly effective, so we kept that room and left the unit running while we went out for about 4 hours. When we returned, the room was just as hot as when we had left, and the AC unit was still blowing, but was only blowing hot air. It never blew cool air again. So in the end we spent a sleepless sweaty night that cost us $140 plus about $22 for parking.

All that said, this hotel would be a nice stay in the Fall or early Spring. The rooms are nice, although not nearly approaching 4*. And the location is great, just a few hundred feet from the Plaza Mayor. But in the summer I would highly recommend avoiding this place and stay at the Parador which is just a little more expensive and has working AC.

This hotel has been recently renovated so it smells very clean. The interior decoration is sophisticate and minimalist which is a lovely contrast to the exterior of the building which is set in the remains of an old convent. Therefore you can still see the wooden exposed beams and staircase with high dome ceilings as well as some of the large granite flooring in front.

The room we are given is a quiet one with a view towards the cathedral and the rest of convent (but not without some stairs in addition to the elevator to drag up our luggage). It is larger than most double rooms we have been to in Spain and it has a spacious bathroom. It also has a nice wooden designed headboard that gives the room character. We particularly love the automatic air-conditioning on and off switch which is linked to the opening of windows, we find it very eco-friendly and thoughtful.
By the way, this is probably one of the fastest free wi-fi internet service of hotels in Spain that we have ever stayed in.

The service of the hotel is decent and some of the staff particularly helpful (especially the night service shift). We are not too excited about the breakfast which could improve in variety and freshness (stale stuff is not appetizing nor are fruit baskets with nearly spoilt apples).

As for parking, the streets of Cuenca's old town is narrow and slopes up and down so finding a hotel with its own parking is not likely to be possible. Therefore we recommend you stay in a hotel near the private parking space which is roofed, secured and large enough for every type and size of car. Of course you will have to carry your luggage up hill down hill to your hotels but it's better than leaving it outside of town. So do ask the reception of your hotel and they will tell you how to find the nearest private parking space. For us it costed approx. 12 euros for one night.
