A beautiful, charming, friendly, lively city. One of our favorite stops in Spain.

“Great for a stroll through town”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

The town has spent a lot of money restoring many of its old buildings, streets and parks. They've done a good job too, it's a great town to explore on foot at a relaxed pace. Nice shopping streets also, and an hours drive to both Leon and Salamanca.

“Charming old town with castle, old churches”
Reviewed October 8, 2010

Zamora is a lovely and very old town. There is a fabulous castle, now a ruin, but you can go into it and tour it. The old narrow streets are charming and authentic. There are a good number of Romanesque churches from the 12th century, in extremely good condition. Lots of good cafes and tapas places. Best tapas I had in all of Spain!
