Liked this hotel. Drinks choice good including some bespoke cocktails if you make friends with the barman, all very smart including the rooms. Helpful staff (they don't go missing for long!). Rooms are small but fine, would have preferred a double bed to singles though. Only thing that stops five stars is the buffet, it is a bit random with the choices. Breakfast is good but we did eat out a couple of times for lunch/dinner. Recommend a bus trip to Palma.

Room Tip: Go top floor, the marble floors and scraping chairs would have annoyed me if we weren't fifth fl...

Overall stay very pleasant. Food ok not 4* . Nice clean rooms & decor although very hard beds. Very good for the price. Close to beach & shops, restaurants etc. recommend hiring a bike & cycling to Palma. Beautiful coast line. All in all recommended

We have stayed in a lot of four star all-inlucive hotels and this is by far the lowest standard of any and judging by the other guests views on the place, I would imagine the number one status of the hotel will plummet fairly rapidly.

Rooms are small but as you generally don't spend THAT much time in them , not a major problem.

Personally, found the reception staff not particularly helpful - we had problems adjusting our televison and asked for help from the man on reception to be told technician did not start until 7 - I am not sure what day at 7 he satrted but we were there for another four days and he never materialised.

At 10 am the day before we were due to leave I also asked same man on reception to phone through to confirm our pick up time. He said he would not be able to do this until 4 pm and when I went back at 4, what do you know it happened to coincide with the end of his shift and the woman who had taken over just pointed to payphone and told me to use that. I have worked in hotels and to me that is part of the job to help customers, obviously this is not so at this hotel.

As many people have said the bar staff often disappear to do other jobs/duties - not their fault but it is annoying. Having said that when they are there, all three that we met were very friendly and efficient (maybe they should give reception a few lessons on customer service). Our cleaner was also friendly and helpful .

The restaurant manager seemed to take his job very seriously, efficient and friendly but definitely a jobsworth. The food , well breakfast is definitely the best. There was very limited choice for lunch and dinner, when we first arrived there was not that many geust but by end of week it was defnitely busier but still a lack of choice. The hot food was not hot - just tepid, and it was huge mish-mash of choices, none of which really seemed to go wotyh each other. It is also telling when you see the chef just help himself to carrots and paella for his own meal!

The other irritating rule was the limit on drinks. I appreciate it is a relatively small hotel but if you are offering all inclusive, within reason, you should not limit what the customers have. One fellow guest was told after 6 beers over his first afternoon that that was enough. The rule seemd to be you were limited to one drink per person at a time - bearing in mind the bar staff would be used in other areas of the hotel for a good few minutes at a time, sometimes you would 'need' to stock up so you did not have to sit there empty handed. Again, with the water for the room , you were limited to 2 small bottles (300 ml or so) per trip to bar- a) if you are there in height of summer, you would want/need more than that to keep yourself hydrated and b) it must be far more economical for the hotel to buy and give guests larger bottles.

While the holiday was not a disaster, we certainly would not recommend it to anyone and most definitely will not ever be returning.

We have just come back from an excellent 4 night stay at the Mediterranean Bay Hotel from Thursday 3rd April to Monday 7th April. We arrived at 11am and was greeted by a very friendly man on check in who explained we could check in at 12PM and we could store our cases in the room behind reception, this wasnt a problem at all and as we have been to the area before we decided to take a walk down to the beach and have a drink. When we returned just before 12 we were promptly checked in and given all info about hotel.

The Rooms are very well decorated with nice furnishes, although a bit small. We didnt mind as was only there for 4 nights but i think if you was staying longer it may well be worth upgrading to a suite if you want more space and storage as there wasnt much, however it was a lovely room and was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also very nice, the showers were fantastic, walk in cubicle and powerful always warm water available. Theres also a fridge in the room.

The food was very good, not much of a selection but i think due to it being out of season this was understandable but what was there all tasted great and enjoyed every meal. I liked the fact the wine was in a bottle and you could see what you was drinking instead of being on tap. We didnt think it was a problem that there were no wine glasses which others have pointed out i cant see why people would find fault with the restaurant or the staff which i think do an excellent job. We were always greeted by friendly staff, i personally thought that they were very efficient when clearing plates and never thought they were trying to hurry us along, in fact one afternoon due to bad weather we spent quite some time in there enjoying lunch and having glasses of wine and they were in no way trying to get rid of us.

The 2 bar men did a brilliant job, very friendly and polite. Yes sometimes they would be helping out in the restaurant at busy times but you only had to walk to the door and ask to be served and they came straight away, there would be no point in them standing behind the bar when there was no one to serve if they can help next door and this only happened a few times. They do have an all inclusive gold option were you can pay 10 Euros each per day and have named brand drinks, this would be a good option if required.

I think all the staff do a fantastic job, all were very friendly and polite and make the hotel a great place to be. On check out we were leaving at 3AM and was asked if we would like a cup of coffee, we thought this was a nice touch.

We would definately return to this hotel but due to having a child we will have to go to their other hotel Palma Bay Club instead, we had a fantastic deal on this hotel which worked out at £25 each a night and it more than lived up to expectation. Thanks for a great time!

Room Tip: Get a taxi from the airport much quicker and only 18 euros in the day and 21 euros at night

We initially wrote a detailed version of our review and sent it over four months ago to the hotel, but never got anything back from them!

It is with regret that I write this, but seeing as we have no intentions of coming to stay at this hotel again, and because we are not looking for money off; I see this really as a constructive feedback exercise in the hope that staff can be trained to a higher standard and future guests a higher level of satisfaction when staying with them.

My friend and I stayed at the Mediterranean Bay hotel in October - 2013.

With our combined working knowledge of the hospitality industry in different countries we aim to give you an informed and fair view of the hotel as we see it.

We will describe only a few of the numerous things that happened and general things we noticed on our stay.

- The rooms although nice in details (though a bit too cramped, specially the tiny bathrooms) but are extremely extremely noisy, as a matter of fact we probably never stayed in a all our lives after so many travelling in any place were we felt as if the "walls" between rooms didn't exist! I could literally hear every single word and movement from both rooms right and left of us, as well as many voices from the rooms on top of mine, specially when the cleaners would start cleaning!

- It is very apparent that it’s as if the bar personnel are hiding, most of the time which we also read here on Tripdavisor, and even when they finally show up ordering very simple and basic drinks seems to take way too long somehow...! Also many times they forget the order or get it wrong all together, and that takes them even more time to correct.. and of course frustrates the guests... so they end up thinking more than twice before ordering anything again!

I really wonder how this could be acceptable for a 4*star hotel, and also if it's only the result of lack of training, or rather something else!???... As one of the Spanish reviews here on Tripdavisor suggests!....

- Supposing that it really is a four star hotel, we expected from the maître d'hôtel and restaurant waiting staff to really act as staff of a four star hotel or at least even as any normal restaurant, the matter of the fact is if you plan to use the restaurant of this hotel for any meal, this might be decision you strongly regret!

The problem isn't with the food or with the chefs who are generally kind and professional, but its overly evident with the waiting staff, and most especially if you dare to enter the restaurant any time close to closing, which is any time after 9 PM, last dinner is served at 9:30, at least that's the suggested closing time of the kitchen, however the food is taken away usually at least ten minutes before 9:30 and you will be "greeted" with the most disrespectful ways, including rude remarks, rolling eyes etc... We saw this happening to many people, and it eventually happened to us on one occasion too! We were also very suprised and shocked by the way the matre’d spoke with the waiting personnel in some occassions! And even more suprised by their reactions in front of the guests after he/they would walk away!....

There are so many things to say about this hotel, but I would rather keep this review short, my advice is if you would like to stay in a place that looks nice from the outside, and you don't mind the distance to Palma, and most importantly will not use the restaurant/bar, but above all, you entirely don't mind noises at any time, then go ahead!

But if your answer is no to any of the above, then please beware of this hotel!!!

Room Tip: I highly doubt if any rooms in this hotel have any kind of proper sound isolation, but anyways If yo...

I am just back from a Saturday night break at the Mediterranean Bay Hotel and suffering the consequences.

The check-in / front-desk staff were amazing, the manager even upgraded my partner and I, to a suite room - which was immaculate and well designed. The hotel even smelt amazing while we used all the facilities; bar sauna and out-door facilities enjoying every momento of it.

Up until dinner this hotel was ticking all the right boxes. We arrived at dinner around 8:30pm - 1 hour prior to the advised time when the restaurant would close. There was no food left!!The hotel was almost completely full however, were was only trays of empty hot plates to dine on. I was then reduced to eating suspect looking fish with over-cooked black squid added to it and a bit of salad. The salad was tasty and abundant - I have to say. Cream ice was available if you fancied something sweet.

After the meal, I did start feeling sick and then ... I was sick all night and the following day.
My partner did make it down to breakfast at 9:50am service ends at 10am and AGAIN nothing was left to eat and all the hot plates were taken away. The restaurant, for me destroyed the feel of the hotel and let the experience down for me!!

Spent four days three nights at the Mediterranean Bay Hotel on an all inclusive basis & without doubt was probably the most value for money break that my partner & I have ever had. The hotel catered for travellers without chidren which in our case was ideal especially since we had left three children & four grandchidren back home! The hotel itself was ideally situated, close to amenities, beach & bus stops (despite being at the top of a slightly steep hill) & was, throughout, quiet.Staff were professional, hard working & courteous, especially the bar & restauarnt staff who were always present & always willing to oblige.Food & drink was plentiful, varied & most satisfying (despite a preference for what may be considered German quisine)Not having ever been on an all inclusive holiday I was most impressed(certainly based on reports from friends). Finding things about the Mediterranean Bay to be critical of is proving difficult since my partner & I have no complaints whatsoever, the hotel is therefore highly recommended especially for the price we paid & would not hesitate to stay there again.
