The hotel is at the far end of arenal and is agood walk up hill from the beach, not a place for people with mobility issues. The hotel is basic but clean the food did not suit every one but was plentiful staff were friendly and helpful drink prices reflected the German influence at between 4and 5 euros a pint expensive by mainland standards plenty of restaurants but not many bars along sea front nice beach.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to have a balcony but we're all the same basicly

Hotel Palma Mazas is not a hotel to please guests. It is an old hotel that needs modernisation. The room that we stayed has only one power point and that is in the bathroom. It is intended for shaving or hairdryer. So if you want to charge your mobile phone you have to plug in to the bathroom. The bathroom door doesn't close, probably the wood had expanded as there is nothing wrong with the hinges. However it is very clean as the rooms are cleaned everyday and towels were changed daily. Hygiene is good. The staffs are not friendly and doesn't act on what you need. The food are tasty but the same foods for breakfast and few changes for dinner.Probably because it is only a 2 star hotel and you only get for what you paid. We booked this packaged holidays two days before we left home and the hotel served the purpose anyway. It is about 5-8 minutes walk to the beach and if you want to go to Palma city centre the bus stop is just few meters away. For budget holidays this is ok, for luxury definitely not.

We booked as a last minute holiday and afterwards we read the terrible reviews and it filled us with dread.
When we arrived the hotel was clean and welcoming the staff were very friendly. Yes there is no air conditioning yes there is no tv or tea coffee making facilities in the room but what do you expect for what you pay to stay here. The breakfast was ample with a small selection of meats and cheeses but it is a continental breakfast. The dining room was clean and again the staff were helpful. With reading the reviews I would recommend using the safety security boxes but we had no problems at all staying here and we would stay again.

ok here goes....
located about 15 mins from beach on first impression does not look too bad. Would not recommend for persons with walking difficulties due to the gradient of the hills up and down, also pushchairs. Arenal caters mainly for Germans etc not a lot for us Brits such as bars and food.
Room - twin beds, shower over bath dangerously slippy, bathroom door would not shut and was rotten. TV was old and dont bother with channels! Patio doors latches not working in a lot of rooms. Lift very noisy and cockrels start crowing about 3-9am. We have seen them running wild around the corner.
Cleaning staff come daily if you want your room cleaned.
Bar and restaurant staff good except one man who appeared very unhappy.
Food very basic we were all inclusive but after twice did not bother with lunch as that would be repeated eventually possibly at dinner. Very poor choice of dessert, melon, jelly or cake. Soup bland and tasteless mostly. Margarine horrendous! No bacon or egg served.
Three ladies had £200 stolen from safety deposit box while we were there. No entertainment at all. No snacks for all inclusive, had to pay 4 euros for one day wi fi. Also 1 euro for a glass of sangria.
They accommodate young persons on their own and we had a terrrible time with shouting, listening to what I wont mention on a public website in the bedroom next door. You need to have either a sleeping tablet or plenty of booze to get to sleep in this place. I would recommend reading other reviews and believe what they say it is true. Only one member of reception a young lady was pleasant the rest could cut cheese with one look at a mile!!
We met some great people and had a laugh with good company (you know who you are folks)! At the moment it is like 18-30 club for young people I feel sorry for couples and families who will get no sleep. The only entertainment is lucky lucky men who come round selling crap gear, watches, hats, furry monkeys etc. Lots of reports from other clients of complaining about various issues and being ignored by reception staff on some occasions rudely spoken to.

Room Tip: Dont have a room close to the lift too noisy lift is very old.
