We had 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine and a soft drink.
The starter we selected had no price beside it on the menu and it was a simple plate of grilled prawns. Usually costing €9 -€12 in other places so I was shocked to see it cost €20 per plate. The food was really tasty and everything was without compliant but at €96 for 2 persons and no dessert or coffee, I felt it was over priced and not good value for money.

We stayed in the Hotel La Cala for a weekend break - on the recommendation of friends who have being going there regularly for the past 20 years.

Despite being a 1* hotel, it was clean, had air-conditioning and the room was a decent size.

The absolute star of the show, however, is the restaurant. The Manager's family run a fishing boat from Roses and the fresh fish on offer is absolutely fabulous, including shell-fish such as razor clams. There is also authentic paella and Zarzuela on offer - at very reasonable prices,

I would also confirm that at least 3 members of the waiting staff spoke English (the menus are in multiple languages in any event) and most spoke French, so there is no need to be concerned about any lack of spanish - it didn't affect us in any way,

I would highly recommend this place.

This restaurant is OK, but there are better ones in town (and across the street). The menu is extensive and features lots of fish (not all fresh). You need to be fluent in Spanish, because there was only one waiter there who could speak English and none who could speak German or French. This resulted in missing potatoes from a dish where they were included, and an extra charge on the bill when they were finally served. Had there not been so many better restaurants in town, I might have been more forgiving.
