We married 50 yrs ago and spent our honeymoon in Majorca, so to celebrate we returned and stayed for a week at Don Pedro. The hotel has been recently refurbished and was clean and tidy. Our room looked directly out to sea and was small but comfortable. We described the hotel as being upside down. The hotel is built into the cliff and therefore the reception was at the top with the rooms down below. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food excellent. The countryside was a reminder of old Spain, with rocks, pines and and noisy goats, absolutely delightful.

Dear Guest
Thank you for you feedback and spending your anniversary with us here. We like your description of our hotel as upside down, but you are correct with reception at the top and the rooms below.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed the food and had a good holiday experience, even with our noisy goats.

Hope you will come back and visit us again in the future.

Kind regards

My partner and I stayed here from 6th to the 20th October this year. The mixed reviews made us a little nervous but there was really no need. We had a wonderfully relaxing break and wouldn't hesitate to return (in fact we're planning on it).

The hotel itself is one of the oldest in the area, so if you want the most up to date modern luxury then this won't be for you! It is very bright and airy in the communal areas, reception is lovely and open, staff there were lovely, Sammy and Ernesto dealt with us and were very friendly,

Some of the rooms are very, very small. Initially we were given a tiny room in the annex building across the cove (V21) there wasn't even enough space to store our cases. When we called reception, they seemed to be expecting our request for a larger room. They moved us to V25 the following day. The rooms in this part of the hotel are nice, not luxurious as I've said, but fine. A couple of annoying design flaws, the hanging lights by the side of the bed looked pretty, but the one on the wardrobe side caused lots of bumps on the head! Also, not enough drop to hang trousers or long dresses. There is also nowhere to dry clothes, unlike the main hotel rooms there is no line on the balcony. The room was clean (perhaps not to the standard we expect in the UK - but they look after their environment rather than pollute them with beach and cleaning chemicals)

A kettle and instant coffee/tea were provided, there is also a small fridge with space to keep milk and essentials (chocolate). There are 2 supermarkets nearby, SPAR was more expensive than the one slightly further up.

There were plenty of spare loungers overlooking the beach, but they are hosed down every morning so if you're an early riser be prepared to wipe them down (we used our beach towels from the previous day then took them to reception to change for fresh ones at 10am) There were a few inconsiderate guests as always who reserve loungers in the morning but don't use them for hours on end, but as it wasn't peak season there were still loungers free all day.

The bay was great for snorkelling - a major reason for choosing this location - lots of fish, eels and a few octopi to be found. There were quite a few surfers on breezy days too. Getting in and out of the water was tricky in some places as its a public beach (like the vast majority in Majorca). We really missed a shower near the beach too, especially to rinse off seal water from wetsuits!

We had good service at the beach bar, Bianca, Kiko and Pablo looked after us with cold beer and cocktails.

The food was really good, it got better towards the end of our stay with added tables for deserts and cheese selections. I will admit that many dishes were luke-warm rather than hot, but I was fine with that and there is a microwave available if required. Lots of variety and hard working waiting staff like Patricio were quick to clear away and bring drinks.

We ate at the Culinarium on one evening and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our meal after reading reviews. I will say that they could improve the experience with inexpensive touches like offering an after dinner drink or complimentary coffee as they do in local restaurants.

We didn't really take part in any entertainment other than Quiz Night as we had drinks at the rooftop bar in the evenings, but the ladies were friendly, Natalia was lovely and chatted to us when she was us around the hotel. We rounded most evenings off in the indoor bar as it was chilly later on the rooftop! Kristian and Bianca served our drinks and the cheese and ham sandwiches at 11pm were tasty and welcome as a late night snack.

If you're looking for a relaxing break with a few local villages to visit then this place is perfect! You can take the bus to Puerto Polensa, Polensa and Alcudia - all are very pretty and worth a visit. To avoid the crowds don't go on market days.

Room tip: Anex rooms are quiet, but no good for anyone who has mobility issues.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your very indepth review, and all the tips and insights for future visitors. We have taken on board the few negative points, useful to help us to improve.

So glad that you liked the area and especially snorkelling this is what the bay is about.

We do hope that you and your partner will be back to visit when you are looking for that relaxing break.

Best regards

Just returned from 5 days mini break here, the location is breathtaking situated between two coves. The hotel had recently been refurbished and rooms and all public areas are now very sleek and stylish.
We had a room on the third floor 335 which was away from the noise from the roof top bar and solarium and good view of one of the coves. We went all inclusive which represented fantastic value for us, especially one afternoon when the heavens opened one afternoon. Food was good, varied choice at every sitting.
Would recommend this place if you want to get away from everything as Cala san vincente is fairly quiet this time of year, taxi to Pollença @ 12-15 euro or you get the bus. Great for walks and stunning scene

Hopefully this review will put it all in a nutshell.
Arrived mid day to very attentive reception staff. Fast check in and were soon in our room. Reception is on fourth floor which is actually at ground level. Our room was on first floor which is three floors down. Stay with me you will get it. Lifts a tad on the small side, four people with out luggage MAX. Room was nice. Not the biggest we have had but also not the smallest. Nice balcony over looking the bay and quite private. Full size shower and no bath which suits us fine. Niggle number one: No fan in bathroom at all. Niggle number Two: Door stop on floor directly in front of entry/exit from shower ( can be painful ). Main dining room is on floor zero.
The hotel is built into the side of a cliff. Floor four being at road level and floor zero being at beach level. The roof level is five and has a bar and sunbeds and a jacuzzi.
So on entry to dining area you are asked what board you have taken, then its a fumble to find the cards as there are no wrist bands.(small niggle).
You find a table and the staff are fast to supply you wine beer water etc.
Buffet style food. Far too much choice to list but believe me it is vast. There was even food for those who are celiac's. Roast pork, roast lamb, roast beef, pizza, meat balls, paella, spaghetti, pasta's, salads it goes on. Trust me Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was full of choice, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Entertainment was what you would expect, some good some not so good. Activities were on every day if you wanted and were from quizzes to exercise to coastal walks etc. there if you wanted them. There is a gym and spa area but we did not venture there.
Outdoor swimming pool on lowest level with a nice suntrap and even nicer a bar too.
I believe holidays are what you make them. We chose this hotel for its quietness and location. If you want night clubs and Karaoke bars it is not for you. If like us you want to just lay back and chill out then this is the one.
Swimming areas either side of the hotel really demanded beach shoes as there are cobbles every where. A ten minute walk will take you to a lovely sandy beach in the next cove.
We were up at 08.00 showered and down to breakfast. Then took a thirty minute walk around the bay. Then up on the roof and lazed till lunch. back on the roof again till the sun disappeared showered changed and ready for dinner and entertainment.
There is a fine dining restaurant that can be booked free of charge once per week and the food is superb. Well worth a visit.
In conclusion, Great Hotel with great friendly staff with great food and drink.

Room tip: I felt a sea view room was far preferential than one over looking the pool area

Myself and my husband booked 7 nights here for our honeymoon. And we weren't disappointed. The second we walked in we had a very warm welcome and hotel looked and smelt amazing. Through out our stay the hotel was kept immaculately clean. Our room was amazing very spacious bathroom to and a lovely balcony. The staff cant do enough for you they are all so friendly and rooms are made up everyday. Food was lovely and they left us a lovely champagne surprise on our first night. The views are breath taking and there's 2 beaches either side. Although there isn't a great deal on the hotels doorstep you can get to other places easily and excursions pick you up from the hotel. Perfect place for peaceful paradise. No faults from us and will definitely return. Thankyou to all the team!
