After reading several negative reviews about this hotel we had some concerns about this holiday but these were taken away as soon as we arrived. The hotel is spotless, beautifully decorated and the reception staff were so warm and welcoming.
We stayed in a sea view room and the views were simply stunning, it is well worth paying the extra for this. Our room was not huge but big enough for us and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom however had some water damage on the ceiling and the paint was flaking off a bit but this didn't spoil our holiday. There was also a doorstop in the middle of the bathroom floor behind the door which we stubbed our toes on almost daily!
The food was vast and varied. I'm a vegetarian and rarely struggled to find something to eat. There was a couple of nights where the choice was limited but there was always pasta and plenty of salad available.
Overall we loved this hotel and will definitely return. The views are breathtaking, the staff are very welcoming and attentive and we particularly loved the padded sunloungers.

This hotel is not up to Sensimar standard at all. It is clear there is a lack of management. Also lack of staff. Please Rosa employ more staff. The staff are incredibly overworked but are still smiling apart from one in the rooftop bar who was very stressed as he had to serve everyone on his own .
There is a underlying atmosphere because staff are not happy. This comes from poor management.
The view and waters are amazing altho you do need water shoes to go into the sea.
Our room was 4th floor sea view.
Small compared to other sensimar hotels. But some of the rooms were ridiculously tiny
The swimming pool is shocking. It's tiny for the size of hotel. They advertise 2 pools. Well the second one is literally a plunge pool ( tiny). Enough room for 4 sunbeds round it.
Please also clean the glass on balconies and top bar.
Wipe down silver tables by sunbeds at Sea bar. I did this myself.
Your activities staff should not be moving sunbeds around ready for the show. They are in evening dress . It was embarrassing to watch.
The parasols are also cheap and nasty and constantly blow over. The bases are not wide enough.
We found this holiday had ups and downs. We ate out a couple of time and went to Puerto Pollensa which is beautiful.
Had we paid half the price for this holiday we would not complain. However, I would rate this hotel 3 star at best ,sadly lacking in all areas.
We will not be returning. Tui , pull your socks up.
I'm giving 2 stars for the view and for the staff who working incredibly hard.

Dear kazzy943,

We regret to read that your expectations have not been met. From your comments we can see that you enjoyed the views to our amazing waters.

We take your criticism very seriously, especially because you are an experienced Sensimar guest For example your criticism of the top bar and balcony glasses, activity staff moving sunbeds and the parasols are points that we can and will implement very quickly, thank you very much. I’s sorry if you think that some rooms are small, but Don Pedro is a beautiful building built many years ago.

Nevertheless, we hope that you will give our hotel the opportunity to meet your expectations in every way.

Best regards from Cala Sant Vicenç

Family of 4 adults just returned from a 7 night holiday at Don Pedro. As others, slightly concerned about hotels showing 'artists impressions' and forums about refurbishment work but absolutely no issues. We had 2 adjacent rooms which had slightly different layouts. Only criticism is that the furniture seemed too big for our room, for example not much room between the bottom of the king size (?) bed and dressing table and huge chair in room, which we put on the balcony to make space in room. Very nice to have bottles of wine in room on arrival, some fruit, slippers, dressing gowns, kits for shaving, toothbrushing (one), sewing etc. Very good rain showers in our 2 bathrooms, well stocked mini bar and towels changed every day, even if I was happy to re-use them. Stayed at many 4/5 star TUI hotels but this definately the best location. Will never forget lying in bed or sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise around the headland. Would be slightly dissapointed if we had a pool view though or a room in the annex, as views not as spectacular.
Excellent food. We tended to eat at about 7:00 and plenty of food available then. Lots of variety and local dishes at all meals, though the chicken nuggets and chips fraternity will be dissapointed. Never had to wait for tables (all set up for couples so had to push 2 together) and never experienced having to wait for food or drink. Take the opportunity to have your complimentary meal at the Cullinarium, a very worthwhile experience.
It can be tricky getting into the sea, and there are lots of sharp rocks around, so take some neoprene shoes or buy some in one of the shops (10-15 euros). Well worth the effort as the sea is beautiful. Brilliant for snorkling, the sea is crystal clear.
Only negative of the holiday and probably not the hotel's fault was that there's a public footpath between the hotel area and sea, and the hotel grounds overlooking Cala de Clara is treated as a public path by those who want to bypass the beach. I had my bag taken from the sunbeds in this area, probably when we all went to the pool and probably by an opportunist thief, so keep an eye on belongings and tech. Could happen in any hotel, just unlucky I guess, but won't let it spoil a fantastic holiday.

Room tip: Very peaceful and relaxing. Sea views are spectacular.

Ok there have been mixed reviews so here’s mine.
Great location stunning views . If you can snorkel take advantage, great for beginners too but get some neoprene shoes you will need them but definitely worth it.
We have stayed at sensimar for ages and have always had good holidays.
Staff - brilliant - overworked but always a smile
Rooms- got free upgrade to sea view - def worth it - no problems at all - tv has bbc and itv channels
Food- pretty good actually although the restaurant feels like a cafe and not a proper restaurant. Some food runs out and is replaced by something different
Cleanliness- not brilliant- could certainly do with improving. The cleaners left stuff in our room 3 days running - just lacks some care. Glass surround on top of hotel def needs some windowlene !
There have been mentions about long trousers must be worn in the restaurant, we even got an email from TUI about this. This is not the case smart shorts can be worn. However some of the guests who thought smart consisted of beachwear was acceptable were not pulled up. Not up to the standard I’m afraid, if you set rules apply them.
Overall
A very enjoyable holiday but not up to the other standard of sensimar hotels we have stayed out.
Staff were brilliant but overall the impression was that there were too many guests for the capacity of the hotel.
You will have to get up early to ensure you have a lounger in fact you could probably leave your towels out all week and they wouldn’t be removed. Not really what you want to be doing on holiday.
I don’t mind rules but if you can’t be bothered to enforce them then don’t have them, at least people know it’s a free for all.
Special mention for the lovely ladies in the restaurant that always greeted us with a smile and great service.

Just returned from a week long holiday at the Don Pedro. Was a bit worried looking at earlier reviews but the hotel is lovely and spotlessly clean. The staff are wonderful and a real asset to the place. They all go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay even though they sometimes work long shifts. The entertainment team were great. I enjoyed the aqua aerobics from Sarah (helped burn a few calories from all the cocktails!!). Denise was lovely and friendly and we enjoyed our organised morning walk. The bar staff at the pool bar were lovely and always up for a laugh and joke. The food is great, Gala night was the best night. The only grumble was that there wasn’t enough meat cooked on the show cooking counter and you had to stand and wait for your order to be cooked. The A La Carte was enjoyable. Drinks lovely although the bar could get busy at peak times and often queues at night. The entertainment was the best we’ve ever had at a hotel. There was something on every night. A particular highlight was the queen tribute act - Freddie was fantastic!! If you want a quiet relaxed holiday then this place is for you. We did the Western Explorer trip with TUI which was very good and a Catamaran trip which was fantastic. Missing Mallorca already
