“Luxurious rooms, good service and delicious food”

Surprisingly this shopping town on the border with Portugal has a very luxurious hotel that is a good value. My dinner was wonderful, leg of lamb off the bone with couscous and fruit and a very nice local wine. Highly recommended.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The cold drink on check in was a very nice touch.
The rooms were spacious, with good A/C, and comfy beds. The restaurant was also good, if a littl3 pricey. Overall a good place to stay.

Room Tip: The Casino can be a little noisy so seek a room as far away as possible. Having said that we were fa...

We got a very good deal as it was the weekend and managed to get a parking space nearby to avoid parking charges. We were greeted by friendly, efficient staff and offered cold lemonade or tea - very refreshing on a swelteringly hot day. First room we were offered smelled of smoke but we were moved swiftly and without a fuss to another one. It was Saturday night and the hotel was full because there was a wedding reception. We heard the loud music when we went for a walk outside the hotel but once in our room, there was not a sound. Pleasant, large room with understated decor and laminated flooring (no horrid carpeting). Good desk and work chair, comfortable easy chairs and good sized coffee table. Very large bathroom - bath, walk-in shower and separate toilet. Very comfortable bed but we didn´t stay for breakfast as it was very expensive. We were given a voucher for a free drink in the Casino (vile coffee, even more vile Cava) and not much atmosphere in there at 11pm so shouldn´t have bothered. Overall a very comfortable stay.

We had to travel for business to Badajoz and we´ve chosen the best hotel there - at least based on reviews. Logically, we expected a lot from it! What a disappoinment.
I base my review on the cathegory of this hotel - a 5*!
Arriving to the hotel, there is was terribly annoying homeless guy outside, asking for money. By annoying, I mean he didn´t let us even walk to the door - the hotel should really take care of this, as instead of a handy bell-boy there is dirty homeless fella welcoming you.
At the reception is nobody who helps you with luggage. :-(
The rooms are huge, but very cold and sterile, with no door for the bathroom. There is no dressing gown, nor slippers, which really disappointed me, as I was cold, the floor of the room and bathroom was cold and I didn´t bring my own slippers, expecting they would be in a 5* hotel. So once you have a shower, you have to step to this cold "wooden" floor - with the wet towel around you. :-(
However, the beds were comfortable.
12€ for parking is a real offence, not mentioning the outrageous price od 20€ PER PERSON, per hour for the jacuzzi!
We had a car, but without it you might have trouble to get to the city center, as this hotel is quite far - on the other side of the river.
Breakfast was a great disappoinment as well. Only the fresh juices were a nice bonus...the rest was very mediocre.

Since it was Semana Santa, the city was already quiet, so I can't tell you if there is noise. The stay was quiet and peaceful. Great hotel and nice location. The walk to the sites wasn't too bad (rainy and windy at the time). Again, a big thank you to Ms. Inmacladia for the excellent customer service you provided and the knowledge of your wonderful city. I can tell you from an experienced traveler, NH got major points from this stay.

I chose this hotel as it was at a very reasonable rate and we would be driving everywhere. The location is extremely useful if you are exploring by car but a 20 minute walk to the old town of Badajoz. The hotel has a car park at €12 per 24 hours but we found a free spot right next door.
Inside it is a casino hotel, large and with lots of atmosphere on the ground floor. When you get up to the rooms it is nice and quiet. The room itself was large (as required for Spanish 5* hotels) and had a shower and separate bath, a table and chairs, work desk, large flat screen TV. The room was clean, decoration a little corporate for my liking, bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large, plenty of amenities and also very clean. There was a well stocked minibar, prices as usual for a hotel minibar. There was also a coffee machine (capsule type) for free coffee. Room service menu was interesting though we didn't try it, prices range from €12 a salad to €20 a beef fillet steak. Service was pleasant and helpful throughout.

Good hotel, with great location. Big rooms, very comfortable. Sufficient breakfast, cost for breakfast could be included in the price for rooms. The only thing to wish for, is to improve English skills for the personell!
