although we have passed by the sign several times over the years and yo be honest never noticed it until the other week when we was in the car awaiting a bus to leave the roundabout off Kryou nerou street just happened to glace to the left and noticed the brown plated sign.
parking nearby is easy there is bike hire repair outlet opposite the supermarket that has a large dusty parking area free of charge for once (looks like napa now has the motorist cornered for euros when parking anywhere near the busy part of the centre).
so take the path upwards towards the aqueduct its a gentle 5 minute walk here is some seating and a bit of a information board although yes its out of the crowds i feel its not a place to take a picnic type of venture here.
looking towards the large aqueduct a small arch can be walked through and steps up the western side of the structure its marred by new(ish) type dwellings that encroach onto the start of the channel.
take the steps back down and wander up the footpath on the eastern side here the remains of the aqueduct channel weaves around for around half a kilometer or so passing the stone blocks of a long since monastery.
its fair to say its a neglected area, flowers and weeds sprawl around the pathway although our visit in April 17 the fauna sort of made the visit photographically wise.
its a quite place ,a differant vibe to Ayia Napa front bar and beach area.
of note the walled aqueduct ends near the main road,

We had a walk every afternoon whilst staying in Ayia Napa and had noticed the sign for the Aqueduct, so decided to follow the signs. Something completely different and reading the sign at the site quite interesting, we followed the aqueduct up to the main road and was intesterested to see that although it had been a little neglected that it is now being taken care of and that lighting has been installed.

Found this completely by accident walking back to the local bus stop in Ayia Napa and followed it to its final disappearance under a house. Really interesting but not well advertised. Also led from there to a visit to the small Saint Epifinios grotto/chapel which we viewed from the aqeduct

its a shame this site of interest has been neglected bit it is still an interesting place to see and stroll round and is free. there is some information and pictures to see what it looked like before getting all overgrown. the walk up is ok but otherwise not wheelchair friendly or accessible to those that have poor mobility

I quite liked the walk in the old aqueduct, even though it is in great need of some attention. There's lots of trash lying around and the plants are drying. It has the potential to be a gorgeous place.
