“Really good holiday! Brill for all the family!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Me, my husband and our 2 children stayed here for a week all inclusive! We had the best holiday ever and we go away once or twice every year! The atmosphere in the day time was good, music playing. Activities for adults and kids e.t.c! The pool area was clean and the small pool was great for my 2 year old, plenty of sunbeds! The rooms are very dated! But always kept clean and tidy with fresh towels! No tv in the room which the kids were a bit disappointed about! But...... Who spends anytime in their room when they are on holiday anyway!!? We had a 1 bedroom apt right near the pool, please be advised that air con is only in the bedroom there are no units in the kitchen/living area where your kids beds are! But we managed and the kids slept ok and weren't too hot! The entertainment was so good in the evening such a laugh and u really get to kno everyone as its quite an intamare resort! Please do not go all inclusive we did and the food/restaurant was so sorry it was like eating in a morgue! No atmosphere not very welcoming, and a sorry counter with a poor variety of food nothing suitable for the kids! However!! We loved the place apart from the food so we have booked again for this August for 2 weeks self catering:) there's plenty of restsurant and places to have nice food so don't go all in when u can go out and explore the taste of Cyprus:) have fun and enjoy u wont regret it!!

My friends and I stayed here for a summer party holiday. Being 25 and not 18, we actively sought out a quieter hotel to escape the crazy party atmosphere in favour of some sleep. This hotel was of an average standard, a good family friendly and quiet hotel which had very clean and tidy grounds. The pool area was great and the gardens are lovely. I would recommend. Nothing luxury, but equally not 'slumming it'.

Stayed here in July 2012 as a family of four we went all inclusive, all the staff were lovely and friendly, our rooms were always cleaned, fresh towels and bed sheets! The room wasn't nice but as teenagers we were hardly in it! The weather was boiling and there was always a good atmosphere the only downside was how far it was to walk to the beach considering in the brochure they said it was right next to the apartments which was a lie! The entertainment at night was mainly based for young children and the food was always repetitive at night which wasn't good they needed more variety of food. Also how far it was to get to ayia-napa main town, price of the buses was not to bad though.

I'm extremely glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Macronissos Village. However please could you advise of which brochure it was that described the beach as being right next to the apartments so that I can look into this.

We read the reviews prior to and after booking and wondered if we had made a big mistake, being lovers of good food and not liking the holiday party scene too much. Arrived late, got best room I feel, 107. All Inclusive finished at 11pm so there was no food available by the time we arrived. Room was located in a quiet part of the site and adequately equipped for our needs. No bugs at all, and not bothered by cats.

Food was very biased towards the typical British palate, burgers, hot dogs and chips - not our palates though. It was ok food but would have preferred some cypriot food as well. Salads were good. Cake and bbq nights were fabulous. We did eat out a few times to break the monotony of burgers and chips...

The entertainment was ok if you like bingo and quizzes but the lads Rob and Tom were excellent and really bonded with the guests. Michael Buble tribute was fantastic and The Blues Brothers act - out of this world!

The variety of drinks and snacks on the AI was limited. Local beer was good but the wine was dire, both colours! Local spirits including Keo brandy and Ouzo were delicious though :-)

Pool great if not a little cool but didn't expect it to be warm this late in the year. Always a sun bed available too.

All in all for the price, not bad at all and would consider staying there again.

We travelled on 27th October and returned on 4th November .Travelled with my husband and my teenage daughter.Have been to Cyprus before but not to this area.
The weather was fantastic two cloudy days but still warm.Yes it does get dark early but this did not affect our enjoyment.
We went self catering and stayed in a bungalow near the pool.Very spacious, clean and yes basic cooking facilities but adequate for snacks. The upstairs patio was lovely for coffee on a morning.
Ate at pool bar only once and it was ok.
Not ones for in house entertainment but the bits we saw were ok and all the young children seemed to have made friends and were enjoying themselves.
Staff were friendly, rooms were clean.
Only complaint was having to pay for wifi which I think could have been free in say the bar area.
On this note we called in at the Kings Sword pub 5 mins down the road which had free wifi. Not usually one for english bars but this was a find. The food was fantastic , cypriot, italian, english certainly well worth a visit or three.
The location of the hotel is good 4km outside ayia napa and near to 3 lovely beaches.
The waterpark is near and the bus is one euro which goes through ayia napa, protares to paralimni.
All the way from the hotel to ayia napa are bars and tavernas so its a nice walk if you want.
We hired a car and drove to Nicosia. The roads are great, drive on the left and signs are in english and parking was easy.We enjoyed our day out and visited the turkish side of nicosia as well (you need your passport for this). Interesting to see the contrast .
We thoroughly enjoyed our week, not sure how it would have been in height of season but for October it was great. The location is good and its easy to get around.Would go back again in October, it was 26 degrees when we left and 1 degree at manchester when we got home-say no more!

Room Tip: Bungalows are spacious with 3 patios one upstairs.

My partner and I stayed at the Macronnissos beginning of October. We were really happy with our room, the decor was a little tired but who's going to be laying in their room all day. The bed was really comfy too.
The grounds are really big and the pool a really good size with lots of sun loungers.
We really enjoyed the food, we have stayed in cyprus many times and the food in the hotels is always very similar but this year we were pleasantly surprised. Some people were moaning about the food and the rooms etc but I do think some people pay for 3* but expect a 5* hotel.
There is a small beach 10mins walk away but if you continue along the coastal path you will come upon lots of small beaches and coves to swim in which are not far at all.
There is a bus stop right outside the Macronnissos which goes to Ayia Napa and passes by Nissi beach too which is only a short ride away.
We really enjoyed our stay and would come back to the Macronnissos

We have just got back from a week at Macronissos village. This is a nice cheap and cheerful holiday, with no frills. Food was nice but not a lot of choice and very little fruit. The accommodation although basic was very clean but be aware if you are on the ground floor in blocks 100 you have to keep the curtains closed all the time as other guest can see straight in from the path. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff they are always friendly and happy to help. Very disappointed with Olympic Rep, worst I have ever experienced. No welcome drink at the welcome meeting. She had no people skills, and I could not make up my mind if she lacked in knowledge or was just not interested because it was the end of the season. On one occasion I had to just walk away because she was so unpleasant when I asked a question about snacks. Sorry Olympic a big smerth boo boo .

Room Tip: I would ask for a higher room so people could not see in.
