Having just read positive reviews before writing mine, I think we must have been in a different restaurant!! This is our honest review of our meal there last week. Extremely disappointed, as it was our 1st night and staying locally just wanted to walk to a restaurant. This place looked fine, advertised as being traditional, had a few diners in so we thought we'd try it. Unfortunately it turned out to be the worse meal of the week, and I don't take pride in saying that. Basically, our meals were overcooked, the meat in particular, very dried out, small portions, even though we wouldn't expect huge portions, but these were small and fairly tasteless. Not what we'd have expected at all. Did we chose the wrong dishes perhaps? Well hardly, calamari (a mere 3 pieces, tiny/med/large) halloumi & ham (limp salad with small pieces of dried out cheese/meat), spare ribs (very dry, strange flavour), chicken & pork skewers (extremely dry, tasteless) and any cook worth their salt would never serve meat as overcooked as it was. Did we complain, no, as it should have been right in the 1st place. After the disappointing starters we'd hoped/assumed the mains would improve. Sadly not. Poorly cooked again, we just assumed this is the cook's/restaurant's standards, so we didn't see the point in complaining, rightly or wrongly, as we don't think it would have improved. We don't want aggravation when dining out, especially on holiday, so say very little when asked if the meal is ok, we just nod/smile politely, rather as we usually do and enthuse about the meal. A good waiter/owner should be able to pick up on this. Dining out elsewhere we had some super meals, at the Sage, Atlas & Garden of Eden restaurants. Please check my reviews, all written truthfully. Overall we had a very disappointing meal, and sadly couldn't recommend it based on our experience.

The restaurant is at Makronissos, opposite the turning signposted to Makronissos beach and two hotels. It’s a traditional restaurant including the music, with a relaxing atmosphere.

We have eaten here on all our visits to Cyprus. Even travelling from further afield we have made our way here.

Everyone is made to feel extremely welcome and given the choice where to sit. Staff are friendly and attentive and always find the time to make conversation with you.

Delicious food is prepared by the Owner/Chef. We enjoy the Cyprus selections from the menu, the portions are generous. The Mousakka is the best I’ve tasted. I wish I knew the Chef’s secret as I can never match it. Pitta bread, plentiful dips, all freshly made. We sometimes choose the Village Salad as a lighter variation or soup.

We had a lovely meal here one night so on our last night, returned for a Meze for two. I can't say enough good things about this place. The meze's were gorgeous and so much of them! Even though they had a full restaurant, the staff were flawless. We were made to feel special and it was nice to see that they clearly had regulars as lots of kissing was going off! The prices were competitive and with the Meze, felt like we'd cheated them! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Lovely food and service at a reasonable price, friendly staff in a relaxed restuarant. Busier in the bar next door especially on Thursday nights for the bingo and Quiz, bingo 40 euro a line 130 euro full house on average
