Having booked this hotel for a weekend away (i live in cyprus), i started hearing mixed reviews before we arrived so was a little concerned what i was going to get.
Anyway i have to say i was pleased with the accomodation for what i paid. (40GBP per night)
Yes the hotel looks like it was last decorated and furnished in the 80's but it was clean and tidy. The reception was friendly and checkin and out was easy. Aircon is 6euro per 24 hours per room, but you only need the bedroom as it cools down both.

The room was large, 1 bedroom seperate, kitchen and living room together and a bathroom. The beds are small but comfortable enough, the living chair turns into another bed if required.

If you are not into partying then this is not the hotel for you as its right by the nighlife, music therefore can be heard until the early hours but as we didnt return until 3am that wasnt a problem as music stops at 2am as the pubs close and nightclubs take over.

Would stay again and you must goto liquid which is right outside the hotel for a great english breakfast for 6.50euro

So yes i will be back

If you want amazing bars, cheap drinks and a good laugh then Ayia Napa is the place to go! Me and three female friends aged between 19 and 21 years visited here in early September and had an absolute ball even though it was nearing the end of the party season. Castle Club, Pirates Bar and Starskys are a must do!
The weather was late 30 degrees every single day so a tan is guaranteed! A must see is Nissi Bay which is absolutely stunning; crystal clear sea and golden sand, it looks like paradise!
However we were very disappointed with our stay at the Vias Apartments. The rooms are very basic but we knew this beforehand. The swimming pool is very small and the hotel must put far too much chlorine in the water because the water turned all the guest's swimwear green!! The hotel advertises itself as a 'Twenties' hotel but the only thing which would have made this obvious to us was a few posters stuck on the wall.
The reception staff are also very rude to their customers and pretend that they cannot understand English even though we heard them speak fluent lingo to the hotel's British maintenance guy. More frustratingly, they also lost our room key on four different occasions after we had handed them in and then tried to make us pay for another one!
I would definately not recommend this hotel to stay in even though it is only a two minute walk to the main bars. However if you do stay at the Vias, please check out the Sage restaurant which is next door as the food is delicious and brilliant value, plus the waiters are extremely helpful and will do everything they can to ensure you have a special night.
If you have any questions about Vias feel free to email me :)

Booked through First Choice on a Twentys package. Have been to Ayia Napa before but not stayed at this hotel - we were a group of 4 girls.
On arrival, check in was quite quick and receptionist very nice. We had requested rooms next to each other & this request was fulfilled. We went up to our rooms (2 x 1 bedroom apartment) and in my room we found one dead cockroach as soon as we walked in. But other than that, the rooms were clean. The girls in the other room had NO sign of cockroaches whatsoever for their whole stay. We ate here most days/nights and found the food to be very quick and very nice. Barmaid, Lucy, was a star and a credit to this hotel. Also went to Liquid bar/cafe in the mornings for breakfast if we fancied it, which i would recommend - lovely place!
Pool: Small and not used much, we used it mainly to cool of when we got too hot from sunbathing, but other guests did use it. Although it did make my swimwear go green, as it did other guests. Also, no problem getting a sun lounger, i was up early every morning (by 9 a.m) but other guests who got up later still got a lounger.
Location is ideal for the nightlife and the square where all the bars and clubs are, which was fab for our group as we are aged 20-25! We met a group of 4 boys at the hotel (2 groups of 2 who had also met at the hotel) and we went out with them about 4 nights of our stay which was nice as they were friendly and just up for a good laugh and drink as we were. Cant say much about hearing noise as previous reviews have said as i was out until the early hours most mornings (5/6 o clock) but defienately could not hear music or noise from the main square. Cant say the beds were uncomfortable, small yes but not uncomfortable.
Overall, good hotel for young holiday makers, but would not recommend this to a family due to the amount of young people and although there wasnt much bad language while we were there, other young people may be more foul-mouthed.
I probably would go back there with a group of friends, but not with a boyfriend or family.

second time we have stayed at Vias. The Place could do with a spruce up, but if your looking for somewhere to lay your head and store your belongings,at a cheap price this will be ok. Close to the square but not so you hear much noise. there are 2 carparks on either side and thier is more noise from these. 5 minute walk to the harbour and beach, restarants and bars 30 second walk away. The apartments are large but dated looking, with not the most comfy beds, but ok.
the pool is quite small and has tiny childrens pool.
The staff are very helpful and friendly
All in all an ok place but dont expect the lap of luxury!

First of all, Vias is a cheap hotel, so we did not have many expectations when we got there. And we were not surprised in any way. But we do not regret staying there, what can be expected for the price we have paid? The location of the hotel is perfect, so close to the night life and also to the beach and harbor. If you want to go to Nissi Beach, you need to take a taxi though, and I recommend it, the water and the seabed are so much cleaner.
The rooms are not clean, I actually found them to be very dirty, you had to wear slippers at all times, the floors were a mess. Ants were roaming free in all the rooms (it was a one bedroom studio). One night, I found in the bathroom a huge bug. When we gave the maid a tip, she cleaned the room like she was suppose to in the first place and changed the towels, so at least it works with incentives. The furniture and the paint job looked at least 10 year old, everything stained and you could see on the ceiling all the champagnes that the previous tenants opened. Room service they say they have, but when we called for some drinks, they told us to come down and get it, not exactly what I would call room service.
We did not pay extra for the A/C, it was not working as it should in the bedroom anyways, we kept the windows opened and did a better job, I'm thinking in the middle of summer this will not work.
The staff was mostly very nice and polite, some of them absolutely great. The hotel was quiet at night, the swimming pool was not used most of the time, even if the hotel was almost full. Overall I do not think this hotel to be appropriate for families with children or for people who enjoy their comfort.

this being our 1st family hol in years we were instantly disappointed on arrival and quickly realised this was not a family hotel we had been told, the pool instanly took the shine off as its small and dirty and as it turned out was more than half empty for 4 days of our hols as it sprung a leak, that was the least of our worries, the air con we believed to be in the price paid was in fact 6 euros per unit per day, each room having 2 units, then theres the rooms very clean and they are kept that way, however very sparse and the furniture is very worn and stained and some broken, but the cochroaches dont seem to mind (and they were big), the only saving grace for this place was its central location to all the bars clubs and beach, and if your an 18yr old. this is definately not a place for families with young children, as the launguage and behaviour of the younger guests was appaulling and i'm no prude, my children picked up words low class hookers would be embarrassed to use, not to mention the array of used condoms we had to dodge every morning, i would never recommend this hotel.

We arrived at the Vias with our 2 children aged 6 and 3., on arrival it was obvious that this accomodation is very, very basic but as it was centrally located and low cost we decided to stay and use the room as just a base. I have to say that the staff were very nice and friendly but that is the only positive thing I will say. We walked past the pool which was tiny and not clean. There were cockroaches in the commual areas and two dead ones in our room when we opened the door. In the 20 minutes we lasted in the room another 7 live huge cockroaches came to visit. We left the room and told reception who said we could move rooms but I couldn't bring myself to try another and checked out. On the plus side the management did refund us and we found another lovely hotel for only 14euros more.

So in conclusion, unless you have a great interest in studying wildlife - i.e cockroaches don't risk it!
