“Fantastic food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

My husband, myself and my 15 year old daughter have just returned from a weeks stay at the Cosmelenia Hotel apartments, we have stayed in lots of bigger hotels in Ayia napa but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed on a half board basis and would recommend it to anyone. Your breakfast is cooked freshly and waitress delivered to you, and the evening meal was out of this world, all cooked freshly to order with delights such as fillet steak garni and salmon oscar as well as Greek special such as Lamb Kleftika and beef Stiffado, we would give the food a 10/10 rating.
Our appartment was a ground floor appartment overlooking the pool, it had everything that was needed was a bit basic but suited our needs. The bathroom was a little tired but it was the end of the season.
Outside you can catch a bus that will take you past all the beaches and into Ayia napa onto Protaros and Paralimini for 1 euro or 3 euro for a day pass or 13 euro for week pass.
Its a 5 minute walk to the water park which is a fantastic day out, but note its cheaper to buy tickets in town then at the gates.
Staff were very friendly but not in our face and helped us with any requests.

Room Tip: Room 416 excellent sun trap on balcony, sun all day in October

Check in fine except not sure why Eu country has to photocopy our passports. Apartment on first floor overlooking pool and sea in distance. Very nice position up couple of lots of stairs. All the normal sorts of things in a very basic apartment. Bathroom small and dated, washbasin cracked and verging on being dangerous. Towels old and bath mat tatty. Extractor made a terrible noise when light switched on. Twin beds fine and wardrobe with hangers and some drawer space. All of this fine for two people but not for family. The cooker (two rings) was broken so you had to have a lighter to get the gas to work. No electric kettle and only old one which no longer whistled. Very old toaster. Saucepans and frying pan all loose handles. Very small amount of china, heavy mugs and only two small plates but lots of saucers. We managed to prepare small meals but a microwave would be good and this would be very hard for a family.Fridge old and had not been defrosted for ages, freezer compartment door broken, probably forced off by all the ice. No long mirror. No television - as I say very basic indeed.
Noise from the bar in the evening awful, it seemed to get louder and went on for far too long. As they charge a silly amount for a/c (45 euros a week) we opted to have windows open but then it was too hot and too noisy! Food in restaurant not too bad, price okay and reasonable quality but there are a load of other places to eat towards Ayia Napa.
Pool area nice with lots of sun beds etc.
Rooms very clean with beds made 6 days (not Sundays it seems) and bins emptied etc. Did get a lot of ants after the food and no containers to put anything in so everything had to be in the fridge.
These people need to spend some money on these rooms, they need to put in a microwave as a minimum, stock up on the china, saucepans etc. Tea towel provided but no dishcloth or washing up liquid which I think is really mean. No toiletries - toilet roll but not even one little bar of soap for the first hand wash before unpacking which would be a courtesy. Whole place needs a bit of a face lift to bring it up to date.
Good location for beach and for getting to lots of other things, a way out of Ayia Napa so sort out buses, a car or do lots of walking. There are a few Lidls around which were amazing value compared to the supermarkets along Nissi Avenue.

Room Tip: Ask for one over looking the pool but be prepared for noise from the road and the bar

My husband and I were here in May and had a briliant week , the staff were so friendly and helpful ,the hotel was spotless , maid service every day , the meals were good quality and very reasonable priced . The bus stops at front of hotel and you can go anywhere from there , they also run well into the night/morning. This little complex was quiet and relaxing but near all the nightlife you could want . Would definately recommend it .

Clean, simple, no frills. Great beach 5 mintues walk from the apartment. Staff were friendly especially Ricky. We did half board and the food was absolutely fine, never went hungry.
We just used it for a base whilst visiting family. The staff even waved us off as we were boarding the coach back to the airport.

Nice place to stay if you are on a low budget Its nice and quiet as it is just on the edge of Ayia Napa, it's as very friendly staff that will do anything for you. It's nice and cleane and there is a lovely little bay just across the road

Let me first start off by saying this is not 5 star accommodation. You get what you pay for. If you go with this view you are going to have a great time. The accommodation is one of the furthest apartments out of Ayia Napa which for us was perfect. There was no noise at all at night and we had great nights sleep with no noise from music or guests.

This is the first holiday I have ever been on where you don't have to get up early to reserve sunbeds. The pool was absolutely lovely and clean and just the right temperature. There were plenty of sun beds by the pool free all day long and mostly had the pool to ourselves for most of the day. The pool bar and bar food was nice. We had a couple of fry ups (very reasonably priced and yummy). The drinks are good - selected cocktails for 2 euros. You can buy six big bottles of water from the bar for your room/fridge for 3 euros.

The rooms were always clean. We had a nice balcony with sea view. The room has a fridge, kettle, toaster etc.

The lovely Makronosis Beach was just a 10-15 minutes walk away (not the beach directly opposite the hotel but turn right by the Kings Sword), crystal clear waters. Stunning!! Much better than Nissi Beach.

I would advise if you are self catering and want to buy stuff for your room to go into Ayia Napa centre and stock up as much cheaper than the shops next door to the hotel which we found to be very expensive.

I would highly recommend using the bus service - just 1 euro for a single into Ayia Napa and a taxi home is 8 euros if you barter your price with the taxi man before you get in.

Ricky the Barman from Bulgaria who works at this hotel is amazing - he goes out of his way to please you and make friends with you and he works really hard and does a great job. He is a real asset to the hotel.

I would highly recommend this apartment for a cheap self catering holiday. It had everything we needed and was perfectly located for us.

Room Tip: I really wanted a pool view room but I am glad we got a sea view room in the end as I think these ro...
