“after reading previous reviews expected better than we got”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2009

The apartment was average, the pillows were yellow with age and sweat, the bed linen on two occasions had stains, although it had been cleaned .bathroom had no window and dodgy toilet flush, also tiny, the ants seemed to enjoy it though.
One primary concern which could be addressed is " the door key doubles up as a start up key for the electric, when placed in the slot the electric lights come on, when removed the electric lights go off, if you had to exit in the middle of the night you would have to remove the key from the wall and be fumbling about in pitch black trying to find the lock to unlock the door.

Myself and two others in their 20’s stayed here in August 09. The apartments and basic but clean and as with everything - you get what you pay for – so it is cheap and really basic, but it DOES have everything you need!

When we saw the pool area I was a bit dubious as it seems you are sunbathing on the main road, but when you’re actually on the main road looking in – its not like you are at all! (no one can see your wobbly bits!)

The apts are situated near Tommys Bar (great family pub) where there’s always something going on. You are slap bang in the middle of the square and beach/harbour area. It’s a 5/10 min to the right up the hill to the square where all the pubs/bars and clubs are and a 5/10 min walk to the left to the beach and the harbour. Its lively enough if you want it to be lively but also quiet enough if you want it quiet!

There are safety deposit boxes in the reception area – which is manned 24 hours, the cleaners come twice a week to do a clean and a towel change.

There is air con but it is only in the bedroom – so the bedroom gets freezing and the lounge/2nd bedroom doesn’t really get the aircon! Move all the beds into the bedroom if you can! Its roasting in august – 35 degrees in the shade!

There are cooking hobs and a kettle in the room. There is a fridge too.

If you have to check out at 12, there is a shower room and facilites to use if you’re flights late on at night. You have to leave your cases in reception – but we didn’t have a problem!

The staff are so nice and couldn’t be more helpful especially the lady who works in the pool area in the day.

We went on the boat trip to Famigusta which for 20Euros is a great day out. John – one of the captains of the boat is just lovely – such a nice guy – as are all of the staff.

Nissi beach is not too far away – about 15 mins – but the bus goes there from outside!

Great place to stay on a small budget. 10/10 to the staff.

We arrived at the apartments in the early hours of 31st August for 7 nights. We arrived to a friendly greeting from the desk staff in the nicely furnished reception, handed in our passports as is standard, received our key and were on our way within what seemed like seconds.

Our room was located on the 1st floor, sadly we didn't have a pool view but it didn't matter too much as we spent very little time in our room. The corridor to the room had been recently painted, however the tiled floor was very tired (something which continued in the apartment). The doors to the rooms also looked freshly painted so it seemed like the owners had made an effort to maintain the rooms and communal areas.

Inside the room, a similar effort had been made to maintain the decor. The kitchen area was clean and the stainless steel sink was gleaming, the fridge was a decent size and clean inside however the 2 burners provided for cooking had definitely seen better days. Utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses were provided and were all in good condition. The furniture was a bit of a throw back to the late eighties but there was plenty places to sit and/or eat, a 3 seater and 2 chairs plus a dining table and four chairs in the large living area.

The bedroom was large with 2 single beds, a dressing table with stool, bedside tables complete with lamps and a side stand where we stored our suitcases. All of the previously mentioned looked like they were from a similar time period to the living area furniture but served their purpose. Sadly the bed linen also looked like it was from a similar time period and it was difficult to distinguish whether it was stained or if it previously had some kind of print on which had washed off.

There was a small storage cupboard between the bedroom and the bathroom but was large enough for a weeks stay for 2 people and there were plenty hangers. The bathroom was possibly the worst of the rooms. From the dated red and white tiled floor, cracked and throughly stained wall tiles to the tiny, cracked wash basin with loose taps.

Initially we were unhappy with our choice of accomodation but given the fact we only booked 5 days earlier and we only planned on using it as a base for sleeping and showering, it served its purpose.

The hotel was in a fantastic location, a five minute stroll from the beach and far enough away from the main nightlife to get a decent nights sleep. This accomodation on the whole seemed to attract families and young couples but it is probably also suited to young people looking for a good base for a lively resort.

Would just like to say that we stayed at the Nicholas apts and they were awful so we found the Androthea Apts to be at every day. We used the pool which is lovely and clean and the surroundings are also very nice. The pool area is washed down everyday, you would not asked for more. Within the pool area there is a eating place, which the food is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. So anyone thinking of booking these apts then do so, they only have air con in the bedroom but from what we were told by people staying in these apts they were very nice and clean, just wished we had stayed there instead of the Nicholas. One point to mentioned is that we only stayed at the Nichiolas because we were told by Olympic Holidays Customer Service that the Nicholas has fully air conditioned rooms, well the bedroom is not what I would call FULLY, if we had known this information then I would have booked with Libra Holidays and stayed here.

Travelled to the Androthea apartments on 28th june 2009. Stayed for a fortnight.
Having been to Ayia napa at least 11 times, i know my way around and have stayed in some real hell holes!!
Booked these apartments due to excellent location. Upon arrival, was greeted fairly well, and pointed in the direction of our room.
Room was spacious and clean. Aircon was 6 euros a day, but was well worth it. One of the few places ive ever stayed where the aircon works!! In fact it was very cold!
Room was cleaned every other day, we never got woken up by the maids which was good.
Pool was very clean, with ample sun loungers to go around, although we went to nissi beach every day.
Staff were helpful, Supermarket was excellent too.
By the second week of our holiday, it seemed to attract the 17-21 brigade, although very noisy, they just seemed to be having fun - no problems.
All in all, i would highly reccomend this place, in fact we have just rebooked for september.

My wife and i really love Cyprus and this was our second time to Ayia Napa.

The weather is great in September - not too hot and not at all cold, even on a night.

These appartments are based really well. I thought that all i would hear is the bars all night, but i can honestly say that you don't really notice the noise. Yes you hear some, but i can say that i slept every night with no problems at all.

The appartments are at the end of NIssi Av by the traffic lights. Here you turn left to go up to all the bars and right to go to the appartments. If you carry on past the appartments you reach the Harbour in less than 5 mins walk.

Reception is small with a few seats for the usual induction with the rep. The staff are really helpful. i hired a car and got a flat and they sorted it all out for me. It really is a family run place.

The room, in my opinion is good. Don't expect all the mod cons of home - you're in Cyprus after all. The kitchen has everything you need for basic self catering, the bathroom is small, but it has a shower and bath. Needs some venting though as it soon steams up. The bedroom is nice and big with lots of storage. We had a room overlooking the pool.

Please note that deposit box and air-con are extra!

You must visit Cape Greco up the road. Don't go on any trips if you want to swim in the sea and do some snorkelling. Get the bus from uop the road and 10 mins later you're at the stop for Capo Greco and then its 10 min walk down the road to loads of differrent spot to go swimming and diving.

Ayia Napa has everything you can want from lovely bars, restaurants and clubs if you like that scene.

Go to the Fijian restaurant for food and Carwash for the club. Both are excellent!

Hire a car and drive to The Tomb of the Kings & Aphredities baths, birth place, etc all to the west and north west of the island.

The only down side to the appartments was... not much really... i'm having to be really picky here! The cost of the deposit box and the air-con.. and maybe the room could do with sprusing up.

All in all, an excellent place to stay and good staff.
