Electra Holiday Village
Reviewed July 12, 2009

My Parents, myself and my sister went for the first time to Cyprus, this year in May/June and we loved our stay at Electra Holiday Village. We stayed one week , half board. The accomodation was the less atractive of all aspects due to old fashion furniture, very basic. It does need a refurbishment. There was ants in our bedroom but the receptionist very promply gave us a spray. The receptionist, on the night shift not very helpful, she was a bit apatic! The entertaining staff , they were super. They made our stay very special and they put a lot of effort into it. The catering staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming as well. There was a lot of variety every day and that was a delight to all of us, as we are mediterranean. Despite a few little details ( such as accomodation and ants) I should refer that the rooms were clean every day and clean towels every day. The location is great, you can very easily go to niss neach walking for 13 minutes and to the centre for night life. I shall mention as well that it's very peaceful place and the sightseeing great. Overall I would recommend this hotel. I would like to take opportunity to say thank you very much to Anis, Lorenzo, Helen, Robert ,Michaela for such a wonderful time, they were 5 stars!

We booked this holiday last minute and got a very good deal. We stayed at Electra for a week and havent got a bad word to say about the place. The swimming pool was massive and catered for adults and children, life guard was always on hand all the time which was very good. There was a supermarket located at the hotel and of course the restaurant for any refreshments which was needed because the weather was boiling everyday! However we had to pay 17 euros for the air con and safe each PLUS 17 euros deposit each so we lost out on a lot of money at the beginning of the holiday. Electra is right near the local beach which was lovely but be careful because there is a lot of stones/rocks as you go in the sea. Nissi beach was about a 15-20 min walk away and is well worth a visit, one of the nicest beaches ive ever been to! Also Aiya Napa was a 15-20 min walk so Electra was conveniently located between both of these places. Had a good few nights out in Napa Square, get lots of drinks for cheap prices and has a really great atmosphere, just beware of the annoying PRs pestering you every five mins! A lot of the excursions that Thomsons offer are a rip off! We booked the water park by ourselves (well recommended day out for a laugh) and managed to get discounted tickets from the locals. Taxis are reliable and reasonably priced and the taxi drivers are very polite. All in all i would definately recommend The Electra apartments, its very good value for money and is brilliant if you just 2chill out or party!

Well, i dont know why there has been some bad reviews about this place!! I was terrified of staying there after reading endless reviews! Let me tell you, it was fantastic. Our room which was 1312, a 1 bedroom apartment was clean and big! in the kitchen, plenty of plates, cups and glasses. the toaster was a godsend! We didnt cook at all as i dont cook on hols. I loved the location, only 10 mins walk to nissi beach, there is a small beach right by the apartments but nissi beach is far nicer so it is worth the walk. We didnt go all inclusive as we know cyprus very well and all the resturants are fab there! However we did eat lunch there twice and it was nice, nothing special. The entertainment was very good. Always something on. The swimming pool was fab, very big and so clean. We will be defo staying at his hotel again without a doubt. please dont let the bad reviews put you off this hotel, it is really a fantastic place to stay. hope this review helps!!

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Electra Village on an all inclusie basis. We were really glad we opted for the all inclusive as Cyprus can be very expensive,we saved a fortune. The foood was very good, nice varied selection for breakfast, cereals, toast, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, pancakes, coffee, tea, fresh fruit etc.For lunch you were able to choose from a menu which had about 20 different selections.Evening meal was buffet style which was varied each day.We enjoyed the food.Staff at the hotel were very friendly and courteous at all times.I would recommend anyone staying here to request a second storey villa as a lot of the ground floor villas are surrounded by bushes, plants etc which can block out the sunlight. We stayed in villa 3511 which was perfect.Great pool view and also a glimpse of the sea.All inc drinks were also far better than other hotels we've stayed in,in the past.We paid a deposit of 17 euros for the airconditioning which was a godsend, you get your 17 euros back at the end of your holiday. The villa had a microwave, kettle, fridge, pots, pans ,cups, glasses and cutlery if you needed them. The villas are basic but ours was spottlessly clean.Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff work very hard to ensure everyone was having a good time,it was like one big happy family.Myself, husband and 19yr old daughter shared a villa which had plenty of room for the 3 of us.This was our first visit to Cyprus and we loved it,we will def be going back.We used taxis whilst we were there,I suggest anyone doing this to agree a price beforehand.A taxi from the Electra to the centre(aiya napa)6 to 8 euros, same for nissi beach.I hope this review will be of help to anyone going to the Electra.

Got to the elektra village in the afternoon when we first got there we thought oh wot have we let ourself in for but it was the best hol i've had in ages. We must av'e had the best room in the complex we walked out of our room 2 step's and we was in the pool.We was self catering so it was so easy to go in our room and get a drink or make some food. The cleaner came round nearly everyday she alway's poped her head in 2 see if we wanted our room cleaned or if we wanted clean towel's she was very helpful. The entertainment staff were great we had so much fun round the pool there was something happing all the time it was great for the kid's kept them amused all the time Anis the entertainer round the pool was great fun. I would recomened this hotel to anybody it was great who ever say's this hotel is crap they must be nut's or very sad and they don't know how to have fun that is what you go on holiday for to enjoy yourself and all the people we got 2 know round the pool thought the hotel was great. The location of the hotel was fab it was only 15min's walk into ayia napa or 15 mins down 2 nissi beach which is fab the water is so clear. The people in cyprus are very polite never had any problem's just be carefull when you get a taxi make sure you ask a price before you get in the cab try to haggell a bit you can get them down a couple of euro's they are pretty good never had a nasty one all the time we was there well that is my opinion of this hotel and i hope it will help you

Went in Sept 08 and the weather was wonderful. Still plenty going on. The hotel was quite basic but in a good place. Nissi beach is close and we enjoyed the walk into town each night. The pool complex was always clean and we spent some time around and in the pool. There were events put on by the staff around the pool such as water polo. This was a relaxed fight but great fun. Food was good, we had B&B and were happy to eat there. Room was clean, no ants or other unwanted guests.
Staff were helpful and friendly. I would go back.
