We returned from a two week all inclusive stay on 02/10/2011.

After a good flight out on a Thompsons Airlines jet we arrived at the hotel about 3:00 in the afternoon. Check in was very efficient and we were in the room (321) within 10 mins.

We had a sea view room which was spotlessly clean and tidy. The room was more than big enough for the two of us with sufficient storage. The bathroom in our room was dated but not as desperately in need of renovation as some reviews had said. The bed was comfortable and the room had a flat screen TV (not many English channels, but we didn’t go to Cyprus to watch TV so that didn’t matter). The bedroom furniture was in a good state of repair.

Overall the food was excellent. We thought the choice was very good. Personally I am not an adventurous eater to the mainly based UK menu suited me. Breakfast was buffet style as per most European hotels we have stayed in with all the normal choices. Lunch was A-La-Carte from a fixed menu served outside. On the all inclusive package you could have anything off this menu without restriction. Warning though lunches are large. Dinner was again buffet style, lots of choice but as I said was very English.

The pool and the surrounding area is excellent. Plenty of sun beds but I agree with a lot of comments the ”towel commandos” were out very early to reserve their spots so if you want a good spot be prepaid to join in. One of the stars of the Tasia Maris is the super efficient Marina who runs the pool bar always has a smile.

As this is a Thompson Gold Hotel, entertainment is provided (several games ending with the daily quiz) around the pool every day. This is arranged by the very hard working Becky and Ashley. These two people do a very good job they work all day around the pool and then compare the evening entertainment. They are always approachable and up for a good laugh. Even though Becky injured her Back and Ashley had a chest infection they worked through it as they did not want to let anyone down.

In the evening we had “Break in the middle” the brilliant Julia and Gary as the resident duo. They are great. There were also more games from Ashley , Becky with Julia and Gary joining in. I will never forget the Mr & Mrs Game we took part in or the “Intro game” – “Tiger Feet” will never be the same. The professional acts were a bit hit and miss with the exception of “Mark Summers as Elvis” who was brilliant on the last night of our holiday.

Whilst watching the entertainment the bar staff were very efficient and we were never left waiting for drinks Chris, Mark, Elley and the other guy who name stated with P (sorry I forgot your name).

Overall a great holiday – Thanks All

This was our 4th visit here and we have already booked again for 2012. From Tasos, the hotel manager, through all the staff they can not do enough for you. It's a small hotel but that adds to the warmth and friendlinees felt in every area. The pool is great witha swim up bar manned ny a gem of a woman in Marina. Entertainment was good in our opinion, Becky and Ashleigh worked really hard but were fun to be around at all times, nothing was too much trouble. the food is to die for with ample choice for everyone, if you can not find something you like every night then we'd be amazed. We metpeople last year that have now become firm friends as they were there again this year, that in itself tells a story of how good this hotel is, we simply can not fault it. Roll on 2nd September 2012 !!

Check in was fast and efficient and if you arrive after dinner, cakes and tea/coffee are provided and a luncheon voucher for the day of departure if this is also late. Food at dinner we found to be very good with around four choices of meats although the salad bar could be a little better. The cooked breakfast serves a good variety but the choice of pastries and fruit is poor. This is served from 7.00 - 10.00 a.m. and we must say tables were being cleared and getting ready for dinner from 9.20 a.m. on most mornings, obviously the staff wanted to get away early and we found they should also smile a lot more. The restaurant was very basic, more like a cafe, table cloths and napkins would be preferrable at dinner rather than paper napkins.
The bedrooms are basic but comfortable and clean, although the bathrooms need to be refurbished and we believe they are being done and turned into wet rooms which will give a lot more space at the end of the season.
We upgraded to the all inclusive drinks package on arrival 21 euros per person per day in September, this was well worth it. Some guests who were fully all inclusive found it a little too much food and skipped either breakfast or lunch or some days.
The pool area was lovely apart fromt the early morning rise to put towels on sunbeds, we saw some putting them out at 5.20 a.m., which we found to be ridiculous, it was still dark. Pool towels which are looking very tatty and worn, are only changed on a Monday and Thursday, but we found by getting four they lasted until the next change. MARINA who runs the meticulously kept pool bar is marvelous, always pleasant, smiling and willing to have a friendly chat, lovely person.
The entertainment team, well what can we say except wonderful, the entertainment in the evening was exceptionally good, the resident duo, Gary and Julia (Break in the middle) were exceptional always there to join in with the fun foo. Becky and Ashleigh, the hosts day and night, were again exceptional and very approachable. We have been in many Gold hotels and the duo and hosts are the best we have seen anywhere, full of fun all of them. Matt and his team (the reps) were very good and accessible almost all the time and full of good advice.
The bar staff, especially Mike, are very quick to learn what you like to drink and are there ready for your order as your glass is nearly empty.
If you like some fun and would like to see a bit more of the surrounding area, we would definately say hire a beach buggy, they are a real good laugh, although we would say if the driver is wearing a t-shirt make it an old one as little bits of oil splash onto the right shoulder from the chain. The best place to hire one is Easy Riders, he is English and very friendly, just out of the hotel turn left along the main road and its just about 200 yards on the right.
The hotel location is excellent with a two minute walk to a sandy beach and about a 30 minute walk into Ayia Napa either by the main road or a lovely coastal walk.
As the only downside was the restaraunt we would have no hesitation returning to this hotel, especially once the bathroom have been modernised.

Room Tip: 228,328,428 at the end of the corridor overlooking pool, lovely views over the sea

This was our second visit to this hotel having gone in October last year, we never normally go to the same place twice but were so impressed on our first visit we decided to return and try it in september this year. We had the same room but this time it had been updated and had a walk in shower. We were made to feel very welcome again and had no complaints on the food side. Break in the Middle were excellant compaired to last years resident duo. The other entertainment however did not come upto scratch. Daytime entertainment was not as good as last year - Brain & Steve were so much better. Sunbeds a pain as these were resevered very early on and no one bothered to enforce any rules. Night time entertainment and sun beds situation needs addressing.

I have just returned from a fortnight's stay at this hotel and had a very enjoyable holiday. This was mainly down to the professional and friendly nature of the Thompson entertainment team. Ashleigh and Becky provided and excellent range of daytime activities and compered the evening entertainment. They made sure that anyone who wanted to take part in the activities did, without pressing those who did not. The way some games were organised ensured that everyone had a chance of winning.

Break in the Middle were the resident group and part of the entertainment team. They are probably the best resident group I have heard (I have heard a lot over the last 30 years) and kept you amused with their banter whilst providing a good range of music. Julia had an excellent voice and was able to tackle a wide range of songs equally successfully whilst Gary's sax playing was also pretty good. They were better than most of the 'brought in' entertainers.

Also worth of note was Maria who ran the pool bar, who was always cheerful and friendly.

The hotel is part of the Thompson Gold chain and whilst the location was very good it was a little disappointing. It's not a bad hotel, but not quite as good as other Thompson Gold hotels I have stayed at. The rooms were clean and comfortable, there was plenty of hot water for the showers, the air conditioning was good and the reception very efficient, but there were little things that could have been better, so here is the nit picking.

My wife and I found the menu a little too safe and repetative. OK if you wanted roasts (mainly pork) and jelly or gateau every night, with tinned peas, carrots and sweetcorn, but little in the way of Greek or Cypriot cuisine. No baklavas, no Greek starters and the few local main courses offered were disappointing. However there were several excellent resturants across the road from the hotel and we had a couple of very good cypriot meals there.

Others have mentioned the shortage of sunbeds and some people were getting up at 05:30 to reserve the prime locations (it was still dark!), however we did manage to reserve a bed every day by getting up between 07;00 and 08:00, but after 8 it was more hit and miss and I spoke to a few people who paid for loungers on the beach because they could not get them by the pool.

Whilst the pool terrace was swept most days it was not washed down during our stay and needed a good clean. The pool towels provided were only changed twice a week and got got pretty mucky as your wet feet got dirty walking from the pool to the sunbed.

Finally there was a fridge in every room, but you had to pay if you wanted to use it. You also had to pay if you wanted tea and coffee making facilities in your room. These add ons annoyed us and quite a lot of people weI spoke to.

Hotel has the potential to be an exceleent hotel. They have several upgrades available (cheaper to buy when you are at the hotel rather than paying thomson prices). We did not upgrade as we like to go out on a night.
The night time meal did not have a great choice and we ended up eating out many nights, however if there is something you fancy then it is good.
The 2 head restaruant waiters George and Kristos are not the most approachable people. On several occassions they where very abrupt and arrogant including the throwing of sunbeds.
The reception staff, thomson gold reps and the thomson reps are very good and will do anything possible to help.
The waiters and waitresses attitude tends to be how the head waiters treat them on the day.
The bedrooms are ok however the bathroom needs to upgraded as this lets the hotel down (mould around bath, grouting mouldy and cracked tiles).
The hotel is 20 minute walk from ayai napa but the best part is a bus stop oppiste where for €1 you can go to Protaras. Protaras drinks and food are approximately 30% cheaper than ayai napa and the resort is more like a holiday resort.
The thomson team say there is enough sunbeds but the terrace area is not big enough to cope with shade, hence the reason why most sunbeds have towels on from 7.00 am.
Pool was cleaned every two days but actual terrace never cleaned whilst we where their and looked as though it needed it.
