“Gorgeous hotel and v. friendly staff”
Reviewed October 15, 2010

A lovely, clean hotel with great staff. We booked a partial seaview room, which is probably the best type as even full sea views only get to see a bit more. 'mountain view' rooms also get views of the nearby motorway and carpark. The pools are gorgeous, large and very clean with lots of sunbeds to pick from. The food was ok, not the best i've eaten, but good enough and there was plenty to choose from, with different themed nights for the food. The hotel is a good walk from the centre of ayia napa, maybe even a taxi ride if you cant be bothered for a long walk. All in all a good hotel.

we stayed here for 2 weeks with my 4 month old son, we had a junior suite which was nice but very basic and corridors in need of tlc. We had a travel cot for my son which was dirty so he ended up sleeping in a made up sofa bedand the maids came in to clean everyday. the only problem was that these suites are mainly used bt families and found it very noisy late at night!! the pools were lovely and plenty of sunbeds we went B&B and found the food lovely, cooked breakfast, cereal and other varietyof food but same everyday. the only things that niggled us was the fridge in the room was a mini bar fridge and if you wanted to use it for your own use you had to pay 3.50euro daily which was not stated and also the brochure states it has a private beach which it is not you have to pay for sunveds and is used by everyone. Overall a pleasent stay and they are going to upgrade this hotel in Nov 2010 and due to complete May 2011 so will be nice to see the refurb. Also whilst on our stay there were lots of weddings i would suggest that if you are due to get married in this hotel you change your mind as it was like a conveyour belt with the weddings and you have your reception in the middle of the pool on a wooden platform (not exactly romantic)

There is nothing negative at all to write about this hotel it was fantastic, there was around 10 of us staying some with children who had the most amazing time this is down to the staff and the fab pools. There was 42 of us in total on this holiday and even the people who didnt book to stay in this hotel came over everyday to eat and use the pools so thats says alot!! I honestly dont understand the people who have written bad reviews if you dont want screaming children book an adult only hotel, children cry i myself dont have children and it didnt bother me and yes there was alot of weddings but these people have chosen to get married here they understand that alot of weddings take place in Cyprus so unless its your own wedding i dont understand why you would write a review complaining about the volume of weddings per day, every wedding party i spoke to had the most magical day at the olympic lagoon and were well looked after. There is nothing more i can say... fantastic holiday, fantastic staff, fantastic food and drinks, fantastic hotel!!!!!

As a repeat guest of the Olympic Lagoon Hotel (and we must have been about 5 times in total) over the years, I was excited to hear about the major refurbishment taking place in the next few months, but immediately dismayed to learn that in future the hotel will only be able to be booked on an all-inclusive basis!! We have always stayed on a bed and breakfast basis which has suited us well and we have always eaten at the local restaurants and bars. I know that families find the fully-inclusive option a cheaper option sometimes but believe me the Olympic Lagoon are going to be charging extortionate prices from what we've seen!!!

Haven't seen any other comments about this which is very surprising as I'm sure we can't be the only disappointed holidaymakers!!!
As always, we were treated wonderfully by all the hotel staff and everything about this hotel is top class!! What a shame we won't be going again!!

Staff were very helpful and friendly especially to our 17 month old daughter, we were taking to our room and the porter explained the air con etc, Our room was a junior suit very spacious and clean had everything we could ask for and out the patio door we overlooked the pool couldn’t ask for a better room.
We stayed all inclusive so stayed for at hotel for most meals the breakfast was the best so much to choose from, evening meals were nice as well my husband’s a fussy eater but always found something he liked the kids menu wasn’t up to much tho but our daughter ate the same as us.
The pools were amazing always clean spent most of our time there.
Kids play area was always clean and tidy too.
Evening entertainment was ok our daughter loved the kids disco and if she had of been abit older am sure she would love the kids club , the entertainment staff worked hard and we enjoyed our evenings in the hotel.
I would recommend his hotel to family and friends it was the perfect holiday can’t wait to book up to go back.

I have just returned from this hotel and we loved it.
We upgraded to the Beach Club rooms, which are the Adults only section, and it was bliss. The rooms were so nice. There is a pool in the adults section which was always quiet and there is the Blue Paradise restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and drinks through the day. (Loved the Chicken Kebab for lunch!)
The staff here was so nice. Santa worked the bar and she was always chatty and then there was also "St Peter", not sure his real name, but they were always helpful and made sure we were looked after.
We went on All Inclusive and it was worth it, I think being HB would just have been expensive after all the drinks we had. They also offer ultra all inclusive at €7pp per day but I did think it was worth it, all it gave was premium branded drinks (Smirnof instead of cheap vodka), water in your room and ice cream. We found we had more than enough choice without this.
We had to go to the main buffet for eve meals and the entertainment was up in the main bar by the pool.
The eve buffet was nice, €22 euros pp if you were on BB, which I thought was expensive but as we were AI we could help ourselves.
The food was nice and a different theme every night. It was always warm and well cooked but I felt there could have been more choice.
The entertainment was good, they had the kids disco first and then entertainment for all and sometimes something a little more adult later on. The entertainment team worked really hard and the dancers really tried but were very amateur, but them I wasn't at a paid show so they did what they were there to do, entertain us.
We didn't go out much, had a walk down to the beach, which was beautiful white sands and clear waters. I am not a beach person but if I was I would be happy with this - only bad point was you had to pay for sunbeds on the beach.
There were lots of weddings taking place, and it is a really nice location for them as well. Only thing that would put me off is sharing the day with someone else as there were often 3 or 4 weddings n a day and the wedding parties sat in the same entertainment bar as us on an evening, which I didn’t mind, but actually felt it wasn’t as personal for them.
We went to Ayia Napa one day for a look around. Took the bus which was €2 euros return each and easy to get. I quite liked Ayia Napa but would only stay there if it was on a girls holiday. There were lots of trips to do but to be honest we just wanted a quiet holiday and all we had planned was sunbathing, eating and drinks, and we sure did plenty of it and the Olympic Lagoon was a great place for it as well.
The only 2 bad things was the fact the mini bars in the rooms were not included as part of the AI, which spoilt it. It would have been nicer to have less in the mini bar and have it included in the price. Also the AI stopped at 2.30 on the days you checked out, which was a pain as we didn’t get picked up until 9.15pm, so had all day and had to buy our food and drink.
The hotel is due to have a refurb over the winter and looking at the pics it looks like it will be amazing. I will seriously consider going back when the refurb is done.

We stayed at this hotel during the second week of our holiday (honeymoon). We decided against getting married at the hotel and we were glad we did. The weddings are not personal- with up to three occuring in one day. People are walking around in their swimming costumes as the bridal party sit down to their meal. If you are not getting married and are looking for a place to stay then this place is spot on. Everything about the hotel is fantastic- the pools (including indoor), the food, even the provision of towels for the pool and a cold face cloth when lying by the pool. I need to go back to the food as i really believe it needs hyped up- all i can say is one of the nicest restaurants i have eaten in, with something for everyone- the puddings were to die for!!! Do be prepared to dress for dinner as shorts and t-shirt just don't cut it for the type of restaurant.
